I just loaded my dishwasher and pushed Start and nothing happened. Noe even a light on the control panel. My husband checked the breaker and pwer coming in to the dishwasher. I did notic there is some standing water in bottom of tub. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks bunches! Gina
Gina, you probably blew a thermal fuse that sits on the control board. Easy fix. Have your husband first check the wiring to the dishwasher. Remove the toe panel and make sure the wire nut connections are good. If that is ok, he will have to remove the inner door screws to get to the control board. Lift out the inner door. Remove the control board cover, it just snaps off. He will see the thermal fuse on the upper right side. I will attach a photo of what it looks like...Catriver...post back
Gina's discription of the problem was right on. And so was the solution. I didn't even need my husband who was working nights and sleeping. I just did it myself. Thanks!! --- Jennifer
To Catri. I have a 3 years old Kenmore built in dishwhaser Mod.15762000.In the last year the termal fuse has been replaced 4 times wires and all.Sears is not interested to do anything aboutit.I think the solution would be a heavier duty thermal fuse. I think a class action suit would wake them up as this problem is to common. They sould try to do something. Thank You. Joe.
Catriver, and anyone else. I had the exact problem described and I did as you said.Problem solved!Thank you very much.you saved me a service call from sears.

Could you please tell me where to find the thermal fuse?
same exact problem
I think we have the same problem. I can't get the 1 1/2 year old machine to start, but the cancel button works. It almost seems to work too well. It takes several minutes (5 maybe) for it to stop. I had a hard time starting it a couple of days ago, but finally got it going (the buttons have always been difficult to push). It worked normally for a few days, then last night wouldn't start at all. Could it still be the thermal fuse? Is it possible that the fuse could go out after only a year and a half?
