Maytag MDB 6601 AWW dishwasher is noisy, not enough water

This has happened a few times to me as well.(VERY VERY LOUD NOISE AT THE BOTTOM)I have the same model It did stop.I did a little reading and came to the conclusion that it was the built in food disposer chopping blades were chopping up something like a cherry pit or peach pit and once an end of a wooden spoon that dropped down.If you look at your USE and care Guide on page 12 under trouble shooting "Dishwasher seems noisy"..I went through the same thing taking things apart.Its got to be it. It could be the impeller on the motor. The impeller fits over the shaft of the motor and might have split/broken up. That funny noise is probably the shaft spinning inside the damage impeller. Fortunately the impeler is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe there are one or two parts/covers to remove that are held in by a roughly half dozen torx screws.

It seems that your motor on the dishwasher is going out, like mine has just done. My explanation is that it sounds like something is grinding on glass or as if a bunch of mice are making noise. Eventually, the motor will not run any more. What will happen is that the dishwasher will fill up, then make a loud humming noise, while the heating element is making the water near the heating element sizzle. Now what you have is a possible fire hazard which compounds the problem with the dishwasher. Get rid of it, take the loss and live like my grandmother used to, without having a dishwasher. That is the best advice I can give you.

My Maytag MDB6650AWW dishwasher would not fill. The lights on the panel were on when I tried the wash cycle. I tested the water valve but no voltage was found during the cycle. I thought it may be the timer/control circuit. I traced the power from the door switch and found no power going to the float switch leg. I found two wires completely cut through (one going to the Water Valve) and three others partially sliced.

most times i have found a foriegn object in the pump. sometimes the machine will clear it itself but other times you have to take the pump apart. it is not too difficult but you will need a size T15 and T20 Torx aka (star) bit to get it apart. Just keep taking out screws until the filter flowplate lifts off.
