The RX-V2600 is first generation HDMI and the firmware is HDMI 1.1a or b It will not pass video via HDMI. It's not a Yamaha problem, it was an HDMI problem. Every receiver with 1.1 or 1.2 firmware has issues. The newest version is 1.3b and so far so good. I'm a home integrator and still am leary of HDMI for that very reason! expensive cables too! if you are viewing on a TV 50" or smaller, the human eye cannot see the difference between 720p and 1080p. if your TV is bigger, run the HDMI directly to the TV and run Digital Coaxial or Optical audio to your receiver. That is the only solution. Hope this helps

OK, use the down mix function on your blue ray player. this will decode for your receiver. the down mix feature should be located in the audio options on the blue ray menu screen.
