Sound worked OK last night, switched it on this morning no sound.
Go to the Menu then go to Install & Retune
Then select First Time Install
Install again and the sound should be working.

A short list of possible answers:
1. Sound on the set or a box if used muted or turned way down.
2. Speakers inside the set (see menu) may be switched OFF?
3. Internal or External speaker Switch somewhere or on back set?
4. Problem is in the set's audio circuit?
5. Connect a DVD etc. to one of the set's rear inputs--Got sound?
6. If connected with a sat or cable box--unplug both units and wait a short time (few minutes) and plug both units up to allow them to reboot as a power outage may also cause problems.
Failing these--set needs to go to a shop and be examined.
On my TV I’ve got a put the volume up to say about 50 just to hear it is there any way of fixing it

hi there.its likely that the lower y-drive panel has died.this is a very common problem with this model.the easy way is to remove the panel from the set completely, power it up and you should be greeted with the top half of the picture.this means ic failure, usually the bottom one for some odd reason.not replaceable unless you have the gear, these ics are available from dalbani(nikkai)for those interested.be extra careful with the four ribbon cables when removing/refitting.damage to these writes off the display panel.hope this helps somewhat, regards, steve.

Well, it's hard to say what part needs replacing. It maybe the MAIN UNIT board, LCD CONTROLLER board, or the SIGNAL board.
The cheapest way to fix it is have a repair shop tell you which board is bad. Then replace the board yourself.
Here's the best place to get parts for it at a decent price:

Just look through this site to get an idea of what parts a going to cost. I know the repairman would charge double for the same part plus labor to install it.
That's the best advice I can give you.
The TV is defiantly worth repairing than replacing it.

It sounds like the main board or screen may have gone

You can always turn your TV off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, wait for 30 seconds or so, plug it back in, then turn it back on. If you have kids check the menu options to see if they may have tampered with it unintentionally. If all else fails, call Vizio and ask for their professional help. If you are not satisfied with their help and assistance, make a complaint by going to BBB.org (Better Business Bureau). Maybe if you tell Vizio that you're going to call the BBB then they might take you a little more seriously.
