Laptop will not charge battery. Issue with internal power converter, etc.

When you say it won't charge, does it charge at all?

1. It indicates that it is charging, but as soon as you unplug the charger the battery quickly or immediately indicates it is dead. If the laptop is off, the LED on the laptop shows it is charging but the battery is always dead,

2. It is as if you didn't have the charger plugged in. No light on the laptop at all when the charger is plugged in.

Possible solutions:

1. The battery has died and is no longer capable of taking a charge. An alternate explanation if you can't even get the laptop to turn on even though the laptop charge LED is on, is that the internal power supply that converts the incoming and battery voltage to all the voltages required has died.

2. The power connector inside the laptop is a common failure point. The solder joints break from various minor shocks over time. This is going to become more common with lead-free solder as it is more brittle. Less likely is that the charging circuit inside the laptop has failed.

Are you sure the adaptor is good?

Try to perfrom power drain. You must first turn off the computer. Take out the battery and unplug the power adapter. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs. Put the batter back in, plug in the power adapter and power ip the computer then observe.

your operating system probably requires more juice than the battery is capable of. batteries do tend to fail as they get older. This is usually not a driver issue.

no, means your charging circuit / charge controller is not working. Double check that the board (also known as DC converter or DC Controller) is seated firmly, all connectors are in place, etc. You may also check the power supply as well, or try substituting another supply for a short time.

Remove the battery and try if the PC turn on connecting to direct currrent.
If it turn on (whitout battery), the issue should be a connector problem or a damaged internal recargher.

the problem is really mysterious. because in most of cases the battery is the villain. and when it is replaced the issue should be over. there are no other components of a laptop which is directly or indirectly related with battery perfomance.

It is possible you have two dud batteries. Recharageable batteries have a limited life, they have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles.
With the battery removed and only the power supply connected and the laptop powered up, when you touch the connector on the laptop and the laptop does not shut down then the laptop connector is OK.

If you can verify your new battery is OK the the fault could be the power supply adapter, if may not produce enought current to run and charge the battery. Try charging the battery overnight by turning off the laptop and leaving on the mains t charge. Borrow a mains adapter and test it on your computer.

You can also check the BIOS setting for power management, ie. hibernate, low power shut down etc.

It is VERY difficult to break a wire or connection internally dropping, shaking, or otherwise damaging the laptop. But I'm going to try and give you an answer without just telling you, "the batteries bad get a new one."

That said, typically batteries either are good and hold a charge or they are bad and they don't. There isn't a lot to a laptop between the battery and power-supply. So, assuming the laptop is in fairly good condition, you will probably just need to replace the battery.

A lot can make the battery fail faster than it should. I've been told for example that running on a car phase converter all the time to charge your batteries, no running on batteries very often so that your always charging, etc. can lower battery life.

The only other problem I can think related to batteries is where the contacts have become corroded on the battery itself or in the laptop where the battery connects, which is something you should be able to visibly see.

If this is the case however and they are rusty, you can clean them off with a pencil eraser, cotton swab and sprite, or alcohol.

You can also use an ohmmeter to check the voltage both from the machine and in the battery itself.
