Step 1 Turn on your computer.
Step 2 Press the space bar on the keyboard immediately after the BIOS screen appears and before the Windows logo screen appears. Press "F8" to access the boot options.
Step 3 Select an operating system to boot and press "Enter."

Stop tablet saving recent windows across boots

To stop your RCA Viking tablet from saving recent windows across boots, you can try the following steps:
  1. Go to "Settings" and select "Developer options".
  2. Scroll down to the "Apps" section and select "Don't keep activities".
  3. This option prevents the device from saving recent activities, so they won't appear when you reboot your tablet.
Alternatively, you can try using a "one tap closes all" button app from the Google Play Store. Some popular options include "Task Manager" and "Advanced Task Manager". These apps allow you to close all open apps with one tap, which can help to prevent recent windows from being saved across boots.

My toshiba r15-s822 says it has no drive and gives a (Ide#0 ERROR) i had a virus and i formated the drive a while back and i got a new windows xp install but i cant seem to load it cause it wont show the...

Xp can only "See" a hard drive up to about 128GB, if its bigger than that, XP won't install.

Make sure your drive is properly connected, and jumper in the right place (1 drive, set to master)
If it used to work before your problem, should be ok.

Then boot from your windows disk. If your bios is set to boot from the hard drive, if there's no operating system on your hard drive it can't boot.

If its set to boot from the hard drive first, it may, after a few seconds revert to booting from the disk drive. If not, while booting watch the screen, at the bottom it you should see "Press F2 for setup or F10 for boot options" or something similar. To temporarily change the settings, choose the boot options menu and select "Boot from CD". Restart and you should be on your way.

If that doesn't work, you may need a new hard drive.

I want to know how to reinstall toshiba portege m200

This is in case you cannot boot into windows but you can get into bios:
Open your disk drive. Insert windows operating system disk into your disk drive. Restart your computer.
If you can get to the stage where you can see see bios entry key then keep pressing whatever key it is that you press to get into bios at start up.
Select the option that let's you choose the drive to boot from, mine is in advanced bios options. then go to either something like bios features or change boot drive.select whatever drive represents your CD-ROM drive and select it to be the first boot drive.
then save exit bios, I do this by pressing escape then Y to save and boot from the rom drive.
This will let you restart your installation of windows and
re-format the drive...
If you can boot into windows:
Then either re-format the drive and delete the partition when you do or...
Run a recovery of the system by installing your disk and letting it get to the stage wher it asks what action/task you want to perform and press r when prompted then follow the prompts to repair the files. This might not work though,
you could even try running a disk check as maybe a lucky chance of repair if you can get into windows.
If your PC keeps trying to boot from the CD drive after repair then re-enter bios at start up and change your hard drive back to first boot device to boot into windows.

It's better if you re-format though as repairing windows can be a little tricky.

Physical memory sump

to fix this problem, try the below steps. 1. as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key. one you reach the dektop..run a system restore if this as started happening recently. you can run system restore which will bring the computer back to an earlier time lets say few days back with the help of selecting the date in the calender in the system restore tool. To go into system restore tool click on start select accessories and the system tools and then system restore. Select restore my computer to an earlier time and click the date in the calender box once highlighted hit next and wait till the process completes once completed it will restart the system automatically and will give you a message your computer was restored successfully in case it says not restored then you can select another Bold date i mean a previous date to retry again.
2. boot to safe mode and folow the below steps: Edit the registry: Start then Run and type "regedit" Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory *Management and double click the DisablePagingExecutive value and enter value 1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager\ Memory Management, double click on the Largesystemcache value and enter 1 as value to increase the size of the hard disk cache
please let me know if this helps. else we need to repair the os and will let u know the steps if this does not work.

Toshiba laptop - Tablet with Windows XP

Greetings,
If we had a clarity on the OS you are using it would have been easy. Do not try to change the mode. Shut down the comp and then try to restart, as it starts then tap the F8 key on the keyboard. We'll get the option for Safe mode. If still you do not get through.
Not being sure why you want to goto safe mode you can always use a plug an play external CD ROM. In case the issue is not resolved for safe mode you'll need to repair the Windows.
