Have a Clarion vz401 stereo system. changed battrey in the car and my son entered the wrong password 3 times and the whole system locked up. Does anyone know how to reset it so that it will function again? Thanks
Ok i have a vz401 and it was locked out so what worked for me is.
hold the volume down button then push the power button after you are holding down the volume button.then if you dont know the code put in 4356 it worked for me

Disconnect the battery and wait about an hour, reconnect battery and try again. If this does not work take it to the dealer.

You need a composite video cable to the Clarion Video input. The usual ipod adapter is for audio only. If you have an AV ipod adapter and you still don't have video, the signal is not strong enough for the clarion to see it and you need a 12volt pre amp. you can find them online starting around 25. Hope this helps

Did you try re-setting the tape. Its reset switch is located right to AUX-IN pin.

I have THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! There's no way to unlock it. And apparently Clarion is the only one who can bypass the password setting. And they want around $200.00 to fix it. You'll have to remove the stereo, send it to them & pay for shipping-both times!
I think the only thing you can do, is disconnect the battery, and try to do the password again (If it'll let you)
