What do you mean it does not want to start programs in general? What happens happens when you click on a program?

If you click on a program and it comes back asking you which program to open it with, then your program file associations have been changed by a virus.

My ge quiet power 3 dishwasher will not start, the normal wash and dry lights come on initially but then go off. Still will not work. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. If I turn the circuit breaker off (for 30 seconds) then turn it back on, the lights will light up, but the controls don't work. After several minutes, the lights go out again.

Acer aspire 5600awlmi going slow

Assuming stock LT go to start run and type msconfig and click ok. On the general tab select Diagnostic Startup and click ok, it will ask to reboot and seleck ok. After the reboot see if it is operating normally.

If it is working normally then some application is causing the problem. You can selectivly choose to launch one app at a time till you find the one causing the problem. Most likely is antivirus set too agressivley or spyware. Might consider a tool like spybot to clean the system.

HP PSC 1510 All-In-One-Printer not responding

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Laptop will work and come on and everything but it freezes up and wont do anything after that

try this:
1- start your laptop in safe mode ( turn on then press F8 repeatedly)
2- double click my computer , then right click mouse on C:
on general tab , press disk cleanup, list will appeared , mark them all, then press delete or clean .
(dont worry , they all rubbish and took a huge space of your system and may affect in your system negativly ).
3- when you finish this , also go to internet options, on the general tab, press delete cookies, and also delete files .
4- when you finish them all, try to scan your computer with your antivirus program while you are in safe mode..

Computer is sticking and slow

HI
All you need to do is to run an Anti-Spyware program on it. Normally it will make it go faster.
Also you might want to try to limit startup programs meaning to get the laptop to start the minimum programs possible.

You might want also to backup your personal files and scrap everything, do a fresh installation.

Hope it works fine

cheers

Laptop ibm t43 does't turn on if it's not plugged in

This generally indicates that you have a short in the battery, or that one of the fail safes in the battery has kicked in. A new battery will correct the issue.

Please help

Hi,

Based on your description, it would seem that Windows is looking for a program that is no longer there and either halts/freezes or does some other thing out of the ordinary.

Initially, suggestion/procedures are:
1. Boot in "Safe Mode", that is press F8 before Windows start to boot and arrow up to select, hit enter;
2. It may take some time but soon as Windows has booted in Safe Mode, go to "Start", click on "Run", in the next small windows, type "msconfig" less the quotes, hit enter;
3. In the msconfig window, un-check everything you feel would not be needed. They maybe updates and autochecks. Normally, what is only important is your anti-virus. Or you can try unchecking everything, restart Windows and see what programs does not run or if any glitch(es). Thereafter, you can F8 again an check to restore the missing programs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Fan on laptop intermittent Avent 7110

That can be normal. Normally cpu fans start up only when cpu reach a determined temperature. After it cools down it stops until temperature reaches starting point again.
Generally, when the fan is not working properly, the computer turns itself off after a while because of overheating.
If you have this problem, laptop turning itself off because of overheating (check it is not hibernating etc.), then you usually solve it by replacing the laptop cooling fan.
Generally, 'fan on laptop intermittent' is not a symptom of malfunction.
