I don\'t usually advocate Apple products, because they\'re restrictive and a pain to bust open to do anything about that. But they do make a fine router! Check out the airport extremes. You can pick up a used one pretty reasonably. I\'ve got one that\'s years and years old and still works like a top. They don\'t give any trouble at all. Especially with the headache you just described.
When it comes to configuring or getting really deep into anything having to do with networking, it quickly get\'s extremely complicated and you can irrevocably damage your hardware with seemingly innocuous changes. (I\'ve bricked many a devices in my day)

This depends... Reaching them wirelessly may be unreliable for a number of reasons, so, I'll proceed on the assumption that you are attempting to test in the simplest lowest-variable situation:
First, make sure that you have the latest Airport Utility for your Mac.
Connect your Mac to the Airport via a single Category 5 (or 5e or 6) cable. Factory-reset the Airpot and then wake up the Mac. If the utility still can't discover your airport, it's probably time for a trip to your local Genius bar as you most likely have a hardware problem.
Lather, rinse, repeat for each of the two airports.
Go to System Preferenced/Network and configure your new Airport Extreme card.
Download and install the Airport Extreme Enabler from Apple in order to use the card in 802.11n mode. Reboot you Mac.
I had the same problem until recently. You have to install the drivers FROM THE CD that came with the printer, instead of selecting the drivers from the default list. Then, when selecting which printer driver to use (you'll have two options) choose Canon IJ and NOT Canon MX310 series. This is a problem with their MX310 driver, which is solved using a default/generic Canon InkJet (hence, the IJ) driver. Hope this helps!
P.S. This only works on Mac OS X. I have yet to figure out how to print wirelessly through Vista. Will keep you posted.
