Had a similar problem on my cali ev. It turned out to be the battery. Once replaced with a varta fun start it's been fine. That was nearly 2 years ago. Good luck..

In fact only turned over once befors starter was clicking away. Pushed it home tried again - nothing. Put battery on charger - charged up in 15 minutes - tried to start - engine turned over couple of times then click click click at starter been out this morning checked all connections and earths - charged battery up - read 13.22v when full charge light came on, tried to start up - turned over several times, getting slowwr then click click. Checked battery reading 12.17v Any suggestions - is it the battery or what else?,The fact that the voltage drops as the revs increase is very odd. However, the dash voltmeter which I assume you are using is often inaccurate. Try an alternative battery, at least to see if it starts. You could use a car battery with jump leads. With a decent battery the charging might improve too.,,,

Yesterday leaving work a radiator line broke. I fixed the line refilled the fluids and started to complete the drive home. Not even three miles down the road my truck was pegged out of the thermostat...

check for blown head gasket. Open radiator cap, start engien and look for bubbles coming up the radiator. If exhaust gas is coming out there, your head gasket is blown. Let me know if you have more questions.

2001 XL1200S Cuts out and dies at highway speeds for a moment

Did you put a new battery in it? If not have it load tested and replace if needed. Check the grounds and make sure they are clean and tight. Check the stator by going to the plug on the right front down tube, with a muti meter take a reading with the bike running on the side that goes back toward the engine, I forget the values but you should get a reading at idle and then as you rev the motor the reading should climb. If all of the above check out OK the problem will be your voltage regulator.

Brakes

so I got the front bearings changed after all the hassle with the locked bolt and then the bike fails the MOT because the floating disc on the front moves a fraction when brake is locked making a clunk. It was doing same last year but passed ! I seem to remember somewhere on a forum (might not have been here) a listing of bikes that share the same disc as the Cali 1100i - a 300mm flaoting disc with 5 studs Anyone any idea what other makes share the same disc or how to find out? Can't afford the £400 from Motomecca so will need to Ebay for it Check it's the disc which is worn, and not the centre, I had that problem on the back, and it was the centre not the disc which was worn. Even then I only got an advisary, not a fail, and it was moving quite a lot. Mine is a Spada III, same as the Cali III and Mille 1000. All had the 300mm floating disc on 5 studs. The disc and centre are flat.,,,
