it is an open circuit (broken) and there is not current flow
could be a failed heater element
could be the thermostat is stuck in the full heat position and is in the switch element off mode
check the element for service or replace the thermostat control

Possible that the heater element is faulty , the line to the heater is snapped or bitten off, the relay to the heater switching is faulty or failed or there is fault in the program switching.
You need to check out one by one using a multimeter, check the continuity of the element if not check the voltage to the heater which will give an indication to the above issues.

Check high limit thermostat continuity. If ok ,Check for voltage at thermostat side of the heater element.If voltage present timer ok.Most likely centifugal switch at motor.Motor has to be running for element to work.

remove the back of dryer,unplug,look to the right and you will see the heater box,the lower half is the heating coil,remove the 2 wires and 2 screws and pull the heater off,also you need to check the heater box fuse located on the upper left side fg heater box-mike

remove the back and check the heater box fuse and heating element,the heater box is on the right,the fuse is on the left side top,the element is the bottom half of heater box-mike

remove the back of dryer and remove the heating element from the heater box,check to see if the wires in the box are touching the heater box walls any where,this would make the element stay on all the time,also check the high temp thermostat on the left side bottom,this is the on off thermo for the heating element-mike

its not defrosting. check heater operations. bimetal near heater. check defrost timer

Unplug the dryer.
Open the lower front panel.Use a putty knife to push in thclips on top of the lower front panel. They are about 2 inches in from each side.
Lower the panel. The heater will be in front of you on the bottom right.
Are you sure the heater is bad?
It may be another part.

On a kenmore conventional dryer they had for a million years the heating element is on the rear of the machine on the right. Some newer models "princess type" have a lower front panel and a heater that just yanks out for easier servicing.

It could be a malfunction heating element, thermostat or both. In most of the cases it's the heating element. Check with a multi-meter for 115/220V on the heater element tags. In case you get this voltage there, you should replace the heating element. In case you can't read the 115/220V on the heater tags: - Check thermostat's for continuity (you should read a low resistance). In case you can't get any measurement. You should replace the thermostat. Good luck!
