Headphone for DVD on 2006 Chrysler Town and Country

Headphones for the DVD player will not work on 2006 Chrysler Town and Country we just bought. The remote will work for everything else and the headphone symbol will show on the radio display, but when we turn on the headphones no sound will come out. We are getting great sound over the main van speakers? Any ideas on how to make these headphones work? Thanks!

We have the same situation - van speakers work without problem but have not been able to get any headphones to work, tried infared with no sound. Did you ever find a solution? We are headed to the beach this summer and prefer not to listen to the move through the speakers...Thanks!

Just found this and it worked! Hope it does for you as well:
There should be a button on the DVD remote control with a headphone symbol on it. Make sure the headphones are turned on(red indicator on earpiece) and push the headphone button on remote. The headphones will only work in the back seats of the vehicle. Once you have audio to the headphones, you should be able to hit the AM/FM button on the radio and listen to the radio while back passengers use the headphones for video.

I have a 2002 Chrysler Town & country and I can't get the sound to work for the Vcr/player Without headphones. How do I get the sound without the headphones?

I had one of these and it turned out to be the headphone jack, when you put the headphone plug into the jack it disables the speaker and when you unplug the headphones it enables the speaker. There's a contact in the jack and it is probably stuck to headphones. The jack may need to be replaced. Try and wiggle the plug a few times but not hard as it may break from the curcuit board.

2005 dodge caravan, factory dvd... no sound through speakers

My grandcarvan sxt came with a remote for the DVD system and wireless headphones from KOSS. You have to press the headphone button on the remote to change it to headphones otherwise it comes through the main system. With the button pressed we can listen to cd or radio in front while they wear the headphones in back. You might need the remote to change it back to main system. The headphones from Koss are lifetime guaranty and not too expensive.

I can't get my factory radio to play while my factory dvd is playing through the speakers on my 2003 town and country

That is intentional; the car radio audio is disabled while the player is working. The previous owner of my Town and Country had a modification done that disabled this by switching off the signal to the radio, so the kids can use the headphones, and I can get my talk radio fix on long trips. It was done by the dealer, so they should be familiar with the procedure.

Just bought 2005 Chrysler Town and Country and no remote and no Wireless headphones for dvd player! Where do I get replacements?

Naturally you could get them from Chrysler parts, if you want to save, go to radio shack and let the associate there check out the jack and he can come up with an inexpensive solution.

Just go to Amazon.com and search DVD wireless headphones. There are several on that site.
