Slag, Has the cable signal been branched off to another TV (or more) from the same feed? Ghosting and shadows are usually the result of bad impedance matches on those lines. Try connecting the prime TV directly to the cable box (or cable jack) output and note if there is any improvement. Make sure the cable itself is of the RG-6 type (not RG-59) and has no sharp bends or kinks. The center pin of the cable should be clean without corrosion. The RF IN jack on the TV should be checked to make sure the threads for the connector are clean and the plug should be attached firmly but not too tight. These steps should help solve this at least assuming the cable signal is good. [Checking it shows the "level" coming off the pole, not necessarily the quality of that level.] Hope this helps.

Ghosting or a 3D image. A yellow and blue ghosting or shadowing image. Looks much like the top picture in the "picture ghosting image" entry. Is this a convergence problem?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Hey, i have a samsung ln32b360, just 2 months old. worked beautifully when i got it, but recently it started ghosting a little in very specific situations. then it started ghosting a lot, but only in dark...

Hi,

First,If there are double images or "ghost" images on the TV's picture, check the cable connections and make sure they are secure.Because the loose cable connection would be a chance for the ghost picture

But if the cable is perfect and if you still get ghost picture then here is the solution:

The LCD Panel is defective. The problem is the T-con board that is used to decode the signal from the main board to the LCD Panel. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD Panel or T-con board if possible. The T-con will cost about 1/10 of the price as the LCD panel but except for a few new models, the T-con is not available. The LCD Panel is very expensive (usually from $600-700 for a 32" Sony).

The reason is that Sony makes the T-cons for each individual TV with different specs to match that of the LCD panel because of the low threshold for error between the LCD Panel and the T-con.

Its best to avil warranty and change the panel...

Please leave me comment, if you need furher assitance

    • If the ghost adjustment is off with a lower value, there will be a ghost to the left of the square.
    • If the ghost adjustment is off with a higher value, there will be a ghost to the right of the square.
  2. Once you get the square to look good without ghosts, press "SELECT" to save any data values that have been changed.

Akai PT5598HDI Rear Screen Projection TV With Blue Shadowing

If the ghosting is like a 3D effect its your convergence ICs , but if its like a blue Halo around objects that usually means your CRT coolant has congealed and will need replacement. The blue is the first tube to congeal for some reason, followed by green. Red seems to be not quite as prone to this. It is a normal occurrence n sets about 4 years old to need the coolant changed.

Ghost images

Sounds like a light engine issue to me. Is there anyway you can post a picture of the issue itself?
