Off Hook Problem

I have a couple Polycom SoundPoint Pro SE-225 conferencing phones and both have the same problem where they think Line 1 is off-hook and therefore I eventually get an off-hook beep and then the recorded operator before the line goes dead. Line 2 on the phones works fine. I know it's the phones since I reversed the lines plugged into the wall and Line 1 still indicates off-hook. My guess is there was a power surge that affected both phones at the same time. Unfortunately I'm outside of warranty. Any thoughts on if they can be fixed or should I sell them for scrap?

SOURCE: MWI doesn't work on Polycom SE-225

The issue isn't exactly resolved. This appears to be due to an incompatibility of the Polycom Se-225 on our Meridian 1 phone system. But Converse handsets with MWI work fine. I have a partial solution by disabling the lamp (LPD on class-of-service), while leaving MWA setting. This allows the interrupted dial-tone when the user lifts the handset.

SOURCE: I have a polycom soundpoint

Hi,

I am sorry to hear regarding the problem.

I initially thought it could be a bad display, however as you could see the caller ID on few occasions, and moreover the missed call details, that completely rules out that being the case. The problem you mentioned are highly suggestive of a hardware problem and would need repair. Unfortunately, there is no ' quick ' fix for the same. Whenever these phones are aged out or there is an electronic circuitry problem, it could cause these funny things. As the other phone is providing the caller ID on each call, that simply excludes phone line being an issue or the activation cause. We have seen such issues in our shop, however we never recommend repair as the cost could be high as compared to the cost of the used one on auction sites such as ebay or a new one with warranty.

I wish i could have a better solution, however new instrument is on the cards unless you want to use this unit the way it is.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I get a dialling tone on my Soundpoint Pro but just the numbers keys sound and it wont actaully make teh call

I'm assuming you already have a voip account set up. sounds like you've not set the dtmf tones to the correct setting, usually set to rfc2833 and/or sip info - set in audio to no.

Polycom 225 SE. Can`t make a full duplex conference call.Always it works in simplex mode. Thanks. Edward

The 225 is full Duplex and I can't see any reason why it should not work. I can only suggest menu, system settings. restore default, and see if that changes anything.
What exactly is happening when you do a conference call?

How do I transfer a call from the Polycom SE-225 phone?

Follow these steps :
1.1
Press the function (FCN) button on the handset while on a call and then press the number "2" button. This will place the call on hold and you will hear a dial tone.
2.2
Call the number or extension of which you want to transfer the call.
3.3
Push the FCN button on the keypad and then the number "2" button and immediately transfer the call. You do not need to wait for the other party to answer.

Polycom SE225: my verizon line provide caller id does not displa

Due to the age of the SoundPoint Pro, it some of its features are not compatible with newer phonesystems, such as CableVision. There are no software updates for the SoundPoint Pro, and as long as the Caller ID is enabled there are no other settings or adjustments that can be made to workaround these kind of problems unfortunately. I recommend contacting your service provider to see what kind of caller ID signaling they are using; most likely they will be using a newer digital system, or MDMF which is not backwards compatible with SDMF or earlier CID receivers.

Polycom SoundPoint 550-Only Showing 1 line

On the phone, press the menu button, then status, then IP status or whatever and get the phone's IP address. Write the ip address down. On your computer, open up a web browser and input the phone's IP address into the address bar and press enter. This should arrive you at the web gui for that phone. It'll probably ask you for login credentials; by default, the name is "Polycom" (yes , it is case-sensetive) and the password is 456. Once you are logged in, you should see several links like "General" "Network" "Sip" and "Lines". click on Lines. under "line 1", you will see the configuration for that line. simply duplicate the entries for lines 2, 3, and 4.
