Bought a japanese language nikon d90, can it be changed to english
Press the MENU button. Press cursor-left, then cursor-up/down to select the wrench icon. Press cursor-right. Use cursor-up/down to select the item that says "Language" in the current language and in English. Press cursor-right. Use cursor-up/down to select "English" and press the OK button. Press MENU to exit the menu.

Within the menu items that can be viewed on the back of the camera, there is a language option that you can set. You may have to scroll through all of these to get the correct setting. Nikon tends to change the menu layout from camera to camera, so it may not be the same in your D60 as it is in a D300 or other model.

Lense and body connection problem...Try removing and replacing he lens. Also you can try to gentley turn the lens on the body to make the contacts touch better...

Make sure you're using the right connector and have it plugged into the bottom port of the D90. Make sure the D90 is NOT set to one of the remote shooting modes.
