With the lights on for well over a week. (in my locked garage incase your wondering why I still have a bike) Needless to say the battery is dead. It's been on a trickle charger since Sunday afternoon (now Tuesday afternoon) and it still indicates charging. We did try it in the bike anyways and no go. Do you think I killed it? The dealership told me it might take a good 2-3 days to charge it back up if I didn't kill it. The battery is 3 months old.... should I just go out a buy a new battery at this point? Ahhh....lessons learned the hard way. Slap a trickle charger with a float on it and see what happens. No way to find out how bad it is until you try to fix it. And draining then charging a battery is one of the worst things you can do to it. Personally, I couldn't stand not riding for 3 days, so I'd buy a new battery anyways. But that's just me.,,,

I have a 1992 yamaha virago 1100 new battery will not keep charge once in motorcycle?

That happened to me last year on my virago 1100. Battery would fully charge, but not hold once in the bike. It was a brand new battery from GP Bikes. I took it back to the store and they checked the charge with their machine, which is better than mine. The battery was a lemon. They replaced it and the new one worked perfectly. But what a pain for a few weeks to figure out it was the battery and not the bike.

New Battery in Bike, turn the key and nothing happens.

Get a test light probe so you can follow the power lead from the battery to the fuses. It will show you where power is getting to and where it isn't.

You've checked the connection from the fuse to the batterie but have you tried to bypass the keyswitch, it could be the switch doesn't connect inside or the key doesn't turn the switch inside.

Bikes dead!! Battery wont charge, been charging all night Help!

You didn't mention if you charged the battery in- or out of the bike. If H-D has a modern alternator, it may have failed diodes that are draining the battery and stealing charge current if charged while connected. If the battery was made in China . . . oh, well.

Even though the battery is new does not mean its not faulty!
Also you might want to check the bikes alternater and make sure it is charging the battery when you are running the bike!
I hope this helps you!
