Left and right clicks on my Synaptics touch pad won't work

Suddenly I cannot right or left click on my touch pad. I finally am able to scroll again, but cannot click on anything without using an external mouse. I have tried deleting and re-installing drivers, changing just about every setting under mouse, etc. Nothing works after 2 full days of work. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Screen won`t display games.

  1. Re install Direct X new version on your laptop
  2. reduce or lower down the resolution settings of your screen. On desktop right click select properties and under the settings tab reduce your resolution to a lower setting like 600*800 and click on Ok an OK again and retry playing your game
  3. If it fails try restoring your computer to a previous date when you were still able to play the games. Start > all programs > accessories > systems tools > systems restore and click on the new window restore to and selct aday you remember you played the game well and resore to it.

Glad to HELP YOU!

All you have to do is to go
START > CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE
and there to ENABLE (just check this option) this feature and you can also setup the SENSITIVITY by sliding right (more sensitive) or left (less sensitive) the cursor.

My best wishes!

Touchpad scroll function not working

Hello,

The touch pad (acer) sometimes get disabled. To enable your touchpad, restarting your computer may help. However, if it doesn't then do the following steps:

  • Go to Control Panel > Mouse > Settings
  • Click Enable (or Disable to disable)

11_15_2012_3_48_14_am.png

Notes:
  • On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to activate or deactivate the touchpad. Press FN + F7
  • You can click "Reset device" if neither of those solutions work
  • The official website provides synaptics drivers and software needed to run your TouchPad
NOTE: If you want to make sure that all your drivers are up to date. You can download RadarSync to your computer. This is a must for your operating system. I highly recommend this because it can update your driver including your touchpad's driver. You don't need to go to synaptics or any website anymore because RadarSync will do it for you. With just a click of a mouse, then your computer will be taken care of.

If you have the same problem, right after doing the above steps please let me know. I would be very glad to help you out.

Thank you for using fixya.com. Have a nice day ahead!

How do i turn on touch pad

You probably have a Synaptics Touchpad. What you have to do is look for the Synaptics logo(it's like a white circle on a red background) in your status bar(lower right corner of the scree, neer the clock). Double click that icon. A window called Mouse properties appears. The last tab is Device settings that also has the Synaptics Icon. If you click it you should see a list of all Synaptics devices on your laptop. Since you only have one you will only have one item in the list. Double click that item and a new Properties window will open. You have a list on the left side of that window. Select tapping and make sure Enable tapping is Checked. That should be it.Good Luck!

Problem with the HP G60-235DX PC Notebook Notebook Touchpad won't scroll. (Synaptics) Previously it would scroll with no problem, then suddenly quit. How do I restore the function? Previous...

Have you checked the settings of your synaptics? Usually there's an Icon on the taskbar for synaptics you can right click it and check if "disable touchpad if usb pointing device is present" is checked, if so uncheck it then your touch pad should work again.
Here's a link for a step by step instruction though this is for windows xp but steps are the same. Hope this works for you:

My Acer 5810T laptop touch pad click function is not working, however the cursor/mouse movement via the touch pad is working well

In the bottom left of your screen by the clock there should be an icon that says touch pad device, synaptics touch, or something along those lines. If you click on this it will give you different options for the touch pad and one of them is tap to click, make sure this is turned on.

My touchpad left click wont work but left click and when i move it it works . i even installed Synaptics - input -synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad From windows update still the left click wont work...

I have this same problem on my pavillion dv6. sent it to warranty repairs twice they have replaced the keyboard, touch pad and mother board, worked about a week after last repair which took two weeks. I am sending it back on feb 10 for more replace parts and see if it works. I searched the web and I have not found any solution and hp won't even acknowledge the problem althoughit it is not limited to the hp product. Reconfigureing and downloading drivers etc. has done nothing but waste time. I am using usb mouse with touch pad disabled for now even that acts strange with the touch pad enabled.

I have a Sony Vaio and though the touch pad allows the cursor to move around the page it does not allow me to click on anything. I have a Logitech mouse that I use but that is because the touch pad is not...

You may need to enable the buttons for Sony Vaio Synaptics TouchPad as follows...
1. At the bottom left of the screen on the Taskbar, left-click on start.
2. On the pop-up window, left-click on Control Panel.
3. In the Control Panel window, left-click on Sony Notebook Setup
4. On the Sony Notebook Setup pop-up, left-click on the Device tab.
5. Left-click on Pointing Devices to high-light it, then left-click the Settings button.
6. On the Mouse Properties pop-up window, left-click on the Device Settings tab.
7. On the Devices listing for Synaptics TouchPad, left-click the Settings button.
8. On the pop-up window Properties for Synaptics TouchPad on PS/2 port....
9. Left-click on Buttons item to bring up a Buttons frame with an Enable buttons check box.
10. If the check box is not checked, left-click on it to enable the buttons for the TouchPad.
11. Left-click Apply button or OK button to enable TouchPad buttons and exit the pop-up window.

THE 4-way scroll button IN MY ASPIRE 5100 DOESNT WORK

Double click the icon in the toolbar. Click the device settings tab and then hit setting. select buttons in the list on the left side. Hit the plus sign(maximize) and select scroll up button action....scroll down button action...Etc. For each action select what you want it to do and just hit apply and move to the next. Once you have selected the action for scroll up, down , left, and right hit apply again just to be sure and try it. It should work. I just did it on my 5630 but Im assuming it works the same.
