The display panel which shows temp, time, ect has become extremely dim. The only way to see what it reads is to turn the lights off in the room. The oven works fine otherwise. Is there a replacement part or fix for this problem?

This is exactly the same problem we have with our Jenn-Air double oven. Everything works fine, but you have to operate on faith that the temp you've selected is what its operating at; because you can't see the light. As others have mentioned, if the room is dark you can see it very faintly. It starts out somewhat bright but seems to be affected by oven temp and duration of time the oven is in use. Very aggrevating for an otherwise superb oven! This is exactly the same problem we have with our Jenn-Air double oven. I emailed/called Jenn-Aire to complain that a 4 year old oven should not have this problem. They were not very helpful at all and said I'm the first person who called with this problem. All they did was apologize and told me to call a repairman. I would suggest that each of you with this problem call Jenn-Aire and maybe we can get a recall. It's ridiculous that we have to pay for a part on new ovens! Their website is www.jennair.com and the customer service number is 1-800-jenair.I emailed/called Jenn-Aire to complain that a 4 year old oven should not have this problem. This is a very buggy oven. I have had the hinge issue which was successfully repaired under home warranty, but now the display issue which looks like it will require a replacement circuit board. $170 online, but I will try to find locally. Not hard to get to, but I don't ever remember growing up the oven being "broken".

My display is completely out now. It was only dim for a couple of days. I opened it up and looked, and there are not fuses, bulbs, or anything similar to replace. It appears the circuit board replacement is the only solution. Replacing appears to be very simple, a couple of screws, a couple of ribbon cables, that's it. Could someone post the correct part number?
This is the only problem I have had with this oven and I have had it for 10yrs.

You do not need to replace the whole circuit board/panel for this issue. I had the same exact symptoms and I read elsewhere that all you needed to do was replace a capacitor (the c3 capacitor to be exact). I replaced the cap and the display is like new again, The capacitor is a 68uf at35v and 105 degrees Celsius and cost $1.99 (may be more of less depending on where you buy it). . If you cannot find a 68uf capacitor you can use a 100uf cap.You do not need to replace the whole circuit board/panel for this issue. Four years ago I had this problem (display goes dim, then goes out altogether) and fixed it per this post:
The circuit board for the display/touch panel is mounted on the back of the display panel itself and connected to the other circuit boards by two multipin connectors. When you remove the display panel (3 screws on top, 4 on the bottom) you will be able to GENTLY detach those connectors. They are low voltage and may be handled safety even when the oven is powered, but I agree that turning off the oven circuit breaker is good practice.
To remove the circuit board, GENTLY release the two black plastic tabs; the solder pads are underneath. I too used a 100 mf capacitor because no local supplier had a 68 mf hi-temp. Observe polarity; the (-) lead goes towards the center of the board (away from the edge connector.) You must use a high-temperature capacitor (105 degrees C, I think) or the problem will recur.
If your oven isn't put together the way mine is, this solution won't work - and I'm sorry to have taken your time.
Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.
If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

BTW, I had exactly the same symptoms (display goes dim, then goes out altogether.)
I experienced the same problem. Order a control panel piece and replace it (the clock panel -is what it is referred to on parts list). It is a matter of killing the electrical power, unscrewing the contro panel, unplugging the old panel and plugging in new panel. Takes all of 8 minutes to do. I am a woman and did it myself. Got tired of waiting for the man to do it. Lived with the old panel for about 4 months before deciding to handle it. I found the control panel on line for $146. Appliance repair shops quoted $300 and more to do it - telling me the part itself would cost $275. Save yourself some money and the installation was very easy.
I found capacitor c3 (68 uf 35 volt) had leaked and dried up, causing the display to fail. I unsoldered and tested c1, c4, c7, and made sure they were good, using a digital multimeter with the ability to test capacitors. C3 also had visible signs of leakage. Works like a charm again, and the display is bright like new!
