sounds like a faulty instrument cluster

does it have power and ground to motor when you work the switch and if it dont then there is probably some broken wires in the wiring harness that goes from the left kick panel to the door. they always break in the section between the door and body and one way to check this is to pull the harness out of the door and cut the rubber back and start pulling on each wire to see which one is broken and they could already be visibly broken.the switch or the motor itself could also be bad if you did not replace the motor and the only other way to check all of this is with a electrical wiring diagram and a volt meter.i have repaired tons of these with the wires broken. let me know if i can help any further and to give me more info. good luck...............

Personally owning this car and installing several Hyundai stereo's, I would purchase a wiring harness kit from car audio shop or electronics retailer. The wire harness has a plug that connects to the cars wiring harness. This wiring harness kit will also list the wires to connect your new aftermarket radio to the harness. I would also recommend using crimped **** connectors to attach the two harnesses together.

Do yourself a favor and run to audio store or even autoparts store & get an adapter plug/harness, cost is a few bucks but well worth it. It plugs into factory harness & you wire your new stereo to it according to diagram with new system.

www.scosche.com will give you the cars wires, u may want to just by a harness adapter, cutting wires=bad
