Park brake switch is the most likely culprit, any other would cause the tractor to not turn over in the crank position.

John Deere x320 PTO switch not getting power. Mower blades will not engage. Replaced PTO clutch and PTO switch. Have checked seat safety switch and RIO switch as well.

Just out of curiosity check your pigtail that plugs into the pot harness. I have ran into a broken wire inside that pigtail before.

Why wont john deere stx 30 pto wont engage

Most of these mowers have a safety switch between the PTO switch and clutch. A safety switch or relay is most likely the problem. Hope this will help ya.

Pto spis all the time on my 1989 john deere 420

Are the blades turning? If they are not, this is normal. The PTO is an electro magnetic clutch that engages when you apply electricity via the PTO switch. When it is disengaged, the bearings and top portion of the clutch will turn because it is coupled to the engine. If the blades ARE turning then you have a bad clutch and will need to repair or replace it

Blades wont engage on a john deer riding mower

May be a safety switch not letting the PTO engage the clutch? Also check your voltage at the battery...too low a voltage won't let the clutch engage either. Should be between 13.3-14v at full throttle.
