Vertical Lines over entire screen.

When I first turn on the set, you get a good picture. Then in about 1 minute, vertical lines appear on the screen covering the enitre screen. I have had the back off the set. Nothing appears to be burnt Lots of IC chips. No caps that I can see. ????

Hi. it is not a standard TV. It is a Maxent LCD TV. M# MX-26X3.

Yes, the screen has even lines, top to bottom, all across, side ti side. Sometimes it will flicker very erratically.

Does this TV have "caps" ? I didn't see any when I had the back off of it. Are they hidden? I did notice there are a lot of pc boards.

What is the brand and model number (not indicated here) so I may try to give you an informed answer.

that is fine---if the lines etc are uniform all over the screen likely the main or digital board bad---if just one side or top or bottom may be an inverter board(some use two boards and some a large board for both sides.

If a limited number of lines as described could be inverter or even a bad panel--lines usually black in that case but not always.

SOURCE: Circle Vertical IC please on picture

I've cropped out most of the picture so it would fit here. The vertical output IC is I601. It's circled in the picture below:

abaefb8.jpg

If you can't place it from this part of your image, it's on the heatsink just above and to the left of the horizontal output transformer, which has the high-voltage lead running to the picture tube. Resolder the IC connections and that will probably take care of your trouble.

HL-6187W, picture has vertical lines

If you can post a picture of what the lines are I can assist with the possible causes. I would assume digital board or DMD/ light engine
But a pic would help make it easier to figure out whats going on with the set.Respond to this same post for assistance.

Sony KF50WE610 Vertical Blue Lines Across Screen

the vertical blue lines indicate some interference from other electronic gadgets near your tv. it started showing up on my sony grand wega when i installed my wireless modem. i almost ordered a new rear projection lamp costing over $100 but decided to experiment. i first moved my desk computer farther away from the tv then isolated the wireless modem router by placing it inside a small glass - the vertical blue lines became lighter in color so i dedided to find another small glass that fit inside the first glass container then put the router in the double glass - no more blue lines and my wireless modem router still works.
do some deductive thinking to figure out what's messing up your tv and isolate the interference.
good luck!

Vertical color lines

I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I turned on the TV and it had colored vertical lines through the whole screen. I called Sony and they had me unplug the TV for about 15 minutes. This solved the problem. They said the boards just needed to be reset. It fixed the problem and I am happy with my Sony once again.

Sony KV-35S42 35" TV

Check first for bad solder on the vertical IC, Im not sure for your set as I do not have the service manual, but it may be location IC301. If after resoldering it does not fix it you may have to replace it and you should replace the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical section. Hope this helps. Don

Picture problem

Usually that symptom is caused by cracked solder joints on the vertical output IC. As the IC starts heating up, the picture starts breaking up at the top with several "dancing" dark lines appearing, the top scrunches down and then when the vertical quits altogether, the screen goes completely black. A good slap on the side of the TV might make it happen faster or clear it up temporarily. If you have experience working on PC boards then you can resolder the pins of the vertical output IC but if you have never soldered parts on PC boards then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
