I insert the key, turn the key to start and nothing happens no noise no click, i thought could possible be battery but the headlights turn on the interior lights go on, my radio will not turn on. i tried to jumpstart the battery and would not do nothing. i drove it in the morning and later that day it would not start. what can it be?

check your key remote if it is not programmed the alarm will go into the kill switch mode and will not allow you to start your engine Having the same trouble with one of my keys I haven't found a way to reprogram it without calling dealer and paying a chunk.

there is a 20 amp fuse under the hood that blew on my 96 stratus that caused the same problem. check that out, maybe the same thing. good luck.

get a boost... sounds like the battery is run down.... if you want to test that theory... have someone try and start the car while you check hte voltage on the battery.... it may well even need replacement

i believe if you remove the steering wheel upper and lower covers, there will be a button to push to allow the removal of the key..as for the no start, the battery light is on because of the alternator. Its faulty. the clicking sound could very well be the starter not having enough power reaching to turn it over again unless you put a power pack on it...try a brand new battery, test the alternator and removed the key..it is possible the the key not shutting off the way, is drawing power from the battery not allowing to start that way, causing what they call a "parasitic drain". charge battery, remove key. try that
