My 2005 stratus will not start, it does not click

I insert the key, turn the key to start and nothing happens no noise no click, i thought could possible be battery but the headlights turn on the interior lights go on, my radio will not turn on. i tried to jumpstart the battery and would not do nothing. i drove it in the morning and later that day it would not start. what can it be?

Thank you to all, I took your suggestion and checked the fuse box tested all fuses and happened to be a 20 amp fuse that was burned out.. replaced and and started. thank you.

Sounds like it's not engaged in Park completely. Try starting in Neutral. Neutral-Safety switch could be bad. Also could be other things like a bad ignition switch or wiring problem.

SOURCE: Clicking Noise when trying to start vehicle

check your key remote if it is not programmed the alarm will go into the kill switch mode and will not allow you to start your engine Having the same trouble with one of my keys I haven't found a way to reprogram it without calling dealer and paying a chunk.

SOURCE: turn key, dashboard lights like normal, nothing happens

get a boost... sounds like the battery is run down.... if you want to test that theory... have someone try and start the car while you check hte voltage on the battery.... it may well even need replacement

SOURCE: mY 97 DODGE STRATUS WONT START, ITSGOT POWER AND

i believe if you remove the steering wheel upper and lower covers, there will be a button to push to allow the removal of the key..as for the no start, the battery light is on because of the alternator. Its faulty. the clicking sound could very well be the starter not having enough power reaching to turn it over again unless you put a power pack on it...try a brand new battery, test the alternator and removed the key..it is possible the the key not shutting off the way, is drawing power from the battery not allowing to start that way, causing what they call a "parasitic drain". charge battery, remove key. try that

Try putting it into neutral, park neutral position switch maybe or ignition switch. When you turn the key to start does anything happen? clicking noise , does the starter engage an spin the engine or nothing happens ? Need better info.

I have 2005 I changed the starter and battery good but it still won't start

First does it crank, if it does then check to see if the fuel injectors are getting fuel.....could be a fuel pump...

second....if there is nothing when you turn the key and the battery is good and the starter was replaced...it could be a bad ground.....thats the ground coming off your battery and goes to your chassis of the car.........let me know how you make out.

I own a 2005 chevy aveo. The car had been sitting out the majority of the day not being used and the temp outside was minus 23. I went to start my car and the key turned properly but nothing happened, no...

so my understanding is you turned wheel and locked wheel and now cannot turn key ? need to turn the wheel some to remove the pressure off the lock and then turn key while holding wheel.
