Do you know where I can get a tank or parts for a tank? The valve rubber dried out.
Mine dried out too. I could not find where to get the rubber valve seal for the tanks. Holmes does not list the part and when I called the rep told me they didid not stock the part. I solved my problem by purchasing thin rubber washers from Lowe's. They are 3/16 X 1 1/4 X 1/16 thick. The 3/16 hole in the center "snaps" on over the end of the plastic plunger just like the original. I had to trim the outside diameter with scissors to about 1" or using the old ones as a guide. Cost me $0.67

I was just looking for the tanks because my cat knocked it over and broke the tank, although I am not sure if it cheaper to buy a new one.
Thanks for the post, I fixed a broken Holmes HM7204 humidifier valve seal with the same washer from ACE hardware. Did not have to trim the part. It was a little excess in diameter but still worked well. The part number and actual picture is attached.

I have a Holmes HM4600HD Humidifier with a valve on the tank that leakes, the valve (little rubber gasket that goes on the end of the spring loaded valve is dry rotted.
same cheap rubber gaskets drying out
Go to a tire store, get a couple of tire patches, cut them round and small enough to fit, make a very small hole in the middle and use it to replace the rubber gaskets. (Trim as needed for best fit.) Have done this with 4 tanks on 2 holmes huminifyiers and it works great.
