Have you tried doing the below, this should open your webcam to show whether it works or not.

Also if the webcam is recognized you should be able to select it as a device to use with programs like messengers and skype from there on screen options.

Press start icon --> devices and printers --> in this list you shold see your web cam if properly installed and available, then just double left click on it to open its cam viewer.

Sooo, what about it? If you have trouble finding it or getting it to work, try Manycam.

Go towww.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com"(without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When thesite opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says FindSoftware. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the whitesearch area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your resultslook for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it andinstall it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs itwould like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additionswhatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use,and you will always know where your webcam software is.

This problem can not be solved on this page as there can be so many reasons for this particular problem

First of all install the software driver of the webcam. once installed you must connect the webcam as it will be detected on the PC and will be installed.
the webcam icon will now appear as you can click to open the webcam. If the software was installed then remove web cam and uninstall before you do it once again.

You can see your self then. If the USB Video Device not showing
there then you have to install the cam first.


2. Power On the laptop/PC & after ready your OS for work just put
your Webcam driver disk in DVD/CD RW/ROM. when its open, that
time just select webcam driver and install it as per your operating
system(Vista or XP). So do it, and after finish installation ,restart the
laptop. Your will see your cam is ready for use.
Then follow again the first instruction.**


3. When you confirm after viewing your self in cam , then stop it. Now login on messenger & click to connect the cam from messenger. If any doubt then then ask me a again. Thanks & waiting for your feed back.

Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Open MSN
Click 'Open Menu'
From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup'
Set your speakers
Click 'Test' - if OK, move on.
Set your mic as default
Use the slider to set volume and test.
Click 'Next'
This takes you to the video setup
Your webcam should be broadcasting - if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN
Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture.
Click 'Finish'
