A common issue here is the actual switch the volume down activates--they are called micro switches (as tiny) and what can happen is the actual switch which is only supposed to activate and when pushed but activates on its own.

They are called momentary since they only work when button is pushed.

Volume buttons/switches on cable boxes can do the same thing but it is rarer.

What needs to be done to confirm or disprove that this is our problem is the small circuit board with all the exterior controls needs to be removed and the (in your case) vol down button's switch needs to be un-soldered and removed----if problem is gone you have two choices:

Locate and replace that tiny board with the switches (they rarely sell individual switches) OR with the bad one removed just put the board back and operate the set with a remote---you will only be missing the volume down feature on the set itself.

Easy to remove as only two solder connections for the switch itself--may be two more for a metal piece it is mounted in.

If that does not cure this----some kind of odd problem around it.

Also when this happens the remote may not work as the manual controls have priority over the remote.

if questions let me know.

I bought a Sanyo model DP55360 Nov. 2010 that now has started turning itself off after a short time, when I restart the tv it shuts off even sooner than before which continues until it will not restar

When it does come on, before it shuts down, does the volume seem to fade real low first? If so its a problem in you main board. IC1670 is bad. Its pretty much a voltage regulator for the audio tract.

RT2770 cuts out above a volume setting of 30.

Bass and other settings may be set too high and are overdriving the unit.

If all else fails try the old unplug it for a while and then plug back to see if that helps.

What if anything else is hooked up at the same time to this system?

My NAD T65 receiver has problems with the digital sound input. The sound gets choppy when I increase the volume. It seems to be ok at very low volumes, but as soon as I crank it up it fails. It happened...

Could the amp be showing distress, clipping, going into protection? There really isn't much reason for volume of a digital input to have an effect unless the room is shaking so much it's upsetting the digital source device's tracking.

Receiver shuts off when volume raised above 10

A fuse breaker or resetting electronic componet device attaced to the audio receiver protects the amp & speakers for destruction! The quality of the amp ,spkers& spks. wires help on choosing for protection shut downs! Of course at 10 volume you risk all of the amp in the receiver , buy a higher quality brand reciever ,intergrated amp, single amp . BE CAREFUL AT THE HIGHER VOLUME RATINGS YOU RISK HEARING DAMAGE! FOR REAL!

Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.
