When the tv is turned on the picture comes on for a second then shuts off. Blue light stays on. When the tv is turned on the picture comes on for a second then shuts off. Blue light stays on.

Check the powersupply/inverter board for bad capacitors. Also check the CCFL bulbs in the top and bottom for poor solder connection - replace if necessary.

First turn on and check with flashlight 2 in. from screen and see if there is a picture. If no picture then open back panel door by taking big black screw out of middle and 2 screw at bottom of panel and slide panel downward, pull off and unscrew metal plate and you should see bad caps in this set, this is what have to be replaced.

Ur tv power supply board is defective.That the board where the a/c power cord go into it.Replaced the power supply board,ur tv will have stable power and work again.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.
Yes my TLA-040 did the same thing, it was operating normally and then it shut off. The red light comes on but no blue power on light at all. HELP
