This receiver has recently began making a frying noise several minutes after it has been turned on. The noise can be heard over the speakers, but not if all of the speakers wires are disconnected. The noise continues to get louder as the unit stays on.
I have the same unit and discovered there's 2 cooling fans inside.
one is not working at all and the other is turning very slow.
With that said I'd open the cover and see if it's the fans.

My unit does not seem to have cooling fans, though it does have a cooling tower that runs the length of the unit behind the front panel. I cannot locate any fans!
My unit does not have the cooling fans that you speak of, or if it does they are hidden from my view. It does have a cooling tower of sorts that runs the width of the unit right behind the face panel, but no cooling fans. Any other ideas?
