Hi,
The screen might be dead,
but if you can open-up the phone, it's always possible that the ribbon-cable from the screen to the PCB has come adrift.
Carefully release the ribbon-cable, before reinstalling it fully & then clamping it down squarely in the housing.
Then reassemble the phone.
Best of luck.
you will need to buy a "OEM Samsung Intercept SPH-M910 Motherboard Flex Cable Ribbon" they are 10 dollars good search that and an online store will pop up
then you need to dissemble your phone unscrew all your screws and take it apart, the ribbon cable dose not pull out it lifts off and insert the new one just take your time and be patient some parts need some force to come apart but not alot
here is a disassemble guide for an htc slider at 3:55 you see the ribbon cable
Most likely a ribbon cable with a bad connection on one or more of it's conductors. It requires dismantling the camera to expose both ends of the cable to check the plastic clamp connectors to this cable on both ends. Another possibility is a partially damaged ribbon cable making intermittent contact. If it's the cable, it requires a replacement. Do you feel you are capable of this level of service? If unsure, then best to leave to those who are comfortable with this type of work.

The reason the touch screen is not working is simply because there is a problem with the sensor board of your phone.
If i knew the specific kind of phone, i would have proffered a solution for it.
But the general solution to that, is to get the appropriate screwdriver and open the phone systematically, Carefully locate the flexi ribbon cable that connects the screen to the panel of the phone.
Replace the flexi cable and reverse the process to reassemble your phone.
Then consider changing the Flexi PCB (ribbon). This is a common failure as the ribbon can suffer wear as the phone slider opens and shuts. Eventually the ribbons become worn and often this results in a screen failure. Changing the ribbon can cure this in most cases... We advise that a new ribbon is added when the screen is changed it’s a good way to service this type of part. So if you do have a screen problem including a screen failure then consider changing this part before you spend good money on a screen.
It is the flexi/ribbon cable that runs from the camera body to the screen that is at fault. It has got broken tracks.
It might work occasionally when the tracks are touching but after a while it will only get worse. A new ribbon cable is needed, which should be a straight forward job for a repair shop or if you can get the cable yourself, an electronics wizz kid !
