Hi
My Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator model # FRS26H5ASB4 is making a loud humming or buzzing noise every few minutes. It does not sound like it is coming from the ice maker, rather the back of the refrigerator.
I had the same problem. I found the buzzing noise was caused by ice build up around the fan motor inside the freezer. I believe water must have leaked down around the fan during a defrost cycle. I removed the ice maker, the ice cube bin and ice dispenser auger motor. It sounds complicated, but it isn't too bad. The ice maker and auger are connected with quick connect plugs. So just unplug, remove the screws and remove them from the freezer. You will need to remove several other screws as well, I believe 11 in total as well as the top freezer rack. This will give you access to the white aluminum panel that runs from the top of the freezer to about halfway down the back of the freezer. After you remove the aluminum panel you will see the fan about half way down the freezer. I found a lot of ice around my fan. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the buzz. Remove the ice and the buzzing is gone. It took me an hour to complete this repair. I hope this helps.

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, LFHT1817LW1, is buzzing or humming. With modern, high efficiency compressors you may hear a high pitched humming or pulsating sound. Additionally, if you have an icemaker equipped inside of your refrigerator the water valve may produce a buzzing noise as the valve opens to fill the icemaker with water. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt

I have the buzzing noise from the back of the refrigerator. We found the compressor was extremely hot. I turned the refrigrator off let the compressor cool. I replaced the relay and start cap. I started the refrigerator everything ran great for about 34 hours and then it started doing it again. How should I check the defrost circuit board for voltage drop. What should the voltage be or the amperage for the compressor?
We are having the same problem with our refrigerator. Were you able to find a long term solution?
did this work for you? I have a similar problem. it is more of a buzzing sound....doesnt sound like ice buildup..
I have a monogram side by side refrigerator making a steady loud clicking noise periodically and the noise is coming from fresh produce drawer
