Microphone feedback I have a shure sm57. It's about 30 years old, and it's been packed away safely for about 25 years, but it does work. Recently though, it starts to feedback as soon as it's plugged in. I've tried changing the placement, volume, tone, just about everything. Could it be damaged?

Yes, it could. With age it may become less directional. It probably sounds okay but just doesn't discriminate against sounds from the rear as well. Shure will put in a new element for not too much money.

My Shure mics work fine but two bodypacks are not working. Are there fixable parts in there?

Try switching mic's with known good system. The small diameter cable going to headset and lav mic's are easily damaged. If the mic feeding the bodypack is good, fresh battery, mute disengaged and channels set properly then it's Shure factory service time.

Shure ulx1 pack red power light will not turn green. Pack display does not show any status messages.

Please make certain the battery is good. Put a voltmeter on the battery to make certain it is above 7.5 volts.

If the battery does measure above 7.5 volts, then then transmitter will need to be sent to Shure for repairs.

Hi everyone, i am a vcliast and have been singing

The speakers MUST be in front of and pointing away from the microphone.

I don't know what you mean by "crystalized" as that mic is a dynamic type.

If the speakers are in back of you you WILL get plenty of feedback. If you must run that way, then you need an anti feedback processor. The device shifts the pitch slightly so that feedback can't occur.

Feedback

That is a great mic. It has a lot to do with the room your in and acoustics of it. If you are too close to your PA or monitor, it will also feedback. Lowering treble and reverb will also help.
