For the Comcast red OK button remote the code is 11100. The volume is controlled with the left/right buttons around the OK button. Credit is due others in this forum; I just combined the info into this solution. The menu button works as well. I still can't control all of the functions but this at least gets you to first base.

Depends on what type of remote you have for Comcast. There are 4 digit and 5 digit codes, depending on the remote. Go to the Comcast website and search for remote programming guide and you should be able to find the codes for the different remotes. Look for the Sony code for the type of remote you have. Should work for Sceptre.

I called sceptere and they claim that you should shut everything off for 30 min, take the batteries out of your remote to restart everything. Then input sony code(s) to get it right . If not they are charging $50-$75 bucks for a new remote

I have a Sceptre 46 in. LCD TV. It worked fine with Comcast until 4:00 AM EST last Wednesday, when it turned itself on. I came into the living room and saw the display on the COMCAST DVR flashing on and...

Try reprogramming the remote the code for scepter is
10889 if you have a RED ok select button on your remote or if you have a DARK SILVER remote

Brand: Sceptre

Most likely code: 10889

  1. Turn on a device (e.g., VCR or DVD Player) and, if applicable, insert media, (e.g., video cassette or disc).
NOTE: Please read steps 2 to 6 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before moving on to step 2
  2. On the remote control, press a device key once (i.e., or TV).
NOTE: Use the AUX key to program control of an Audio Amplifier or Receiver, a DVD Player, a Home-Theater-In-A-Box Device, a PVR (or DVR), or a VCR.
  3. Press and hold Setup until the selected mode key blinks twice, then release Setup.
  4. Locate the code for your device in Manufacturer's Codes listed below. Brands are listed in alphabetical order with the most popular codes listed first.
  5. Enter the first five-digit code for your device. If you perform this procedure correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice.
NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the selected mode key will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 5 with a valid code.
  6. Aim the remote control at your device and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not respond, repeat steps 2 to 6, trying each code listed for your brand until you find one that works. If it still does not work, try Searching For Your Code.
NOTE: If the device does not have a Power key, press the (Play) key

Can't find remote codes for comast remote

Comcast has not added remote codes for that brand to their cable remote. This is likely because they haven't received the IR frequencies from your TVs manufacturer. This is a common problem with TV companies that are small and don't yet have a lot of models or total sales.

I'm afraid for now, you'll have to use two remotes. Unless you want to purchase a learning remote that can replace both the TV and the cable remote. A learning remote works by picking up the necessary frequencies directly from the remote you want to replace.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today!

Programming the Acquos Remote

There is a code out there to try.  The code would be 47.  Just follow the steps in your manual on how to program this box and you should be able to go from there. Can't garantee that it will work as that code came out with the newer tv but it should work.

Code for Vizio tv

I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!
