Looks like you have a boot sector virus. Go here and download an antivirus for boot sector:
Avira AntiVir Bootsektor-Repairtool

If that does not resolve the issue, Try going into Safe Mode and see if you can get into Windows. If you can, then it could be that one of the drivers is conflicting with another and you may have to rei.nstall the drivers

SOURCE: I have a compaq Presario

Does it loose time even with power cable connected? If so I would say your MB has a bad RTC chip and you need to replace the motherboard. Other things to check are make sure the CMOS battery your using is BRAND NEW with a good expiration date. That the contacts on the MB are making firm contact with the battery. Also check to make sure the contacts are CLEAN... no residue on them.

How to reset BIOS setup password?

Well, I haven't worked on a Compaq for a few years but they're one of the models that respond to having the CMOS battery removed.

Basically, remove battery, find location of CMOS battery (usually under memory cover or HDD cover) and disconnect or pull it out for 30 minutes and you should be back to factory defaults.

Which operating system ?
The Compaq Presario CMOS password is an administrative security measure built into the firmware of a Compaq computer.

This password is stored in the motherboard's BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and provides for hardware-level security.

This password may be accidentally set or forgotten over time and must be reset in order to boot the computing system.

Disconnect the Compaq computer from any electrical sources and remove the side access panel from its case.

This may require the removal of one or more thumbscrews on the rear of the computer case.

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules

Locate the CMOS battery.

This battery is a round button-type battery located in the bottom-right corner of the Compaq Presario motherboard.

Grip the battery by its edges and pull it straight away from the motherboard to remove it.

Press and hold the power button on the case for ten seconds to remove any remaining electrical current from the computer.

This removes the CMOS settings and returns it to the default state of having no password set.

Replace the CMOS battery.

Replace the computer's side access panel and re-establish any previously severed electrical connections.

Hi.

Try this >>>>

Power down your Compaq Presario F500 notebook computer. Remove the unit's internal battery from its housing compartment.
Use a screwdriver to unscrew and remove all of the screws from the bottom panel of your Compaq Presario F500. Use your hands to lift off the bottom panel, revealing the inside of the notebook computer.
Look for the CMOS/BIOS chip: It will be located in the center of your computer's motherboard, which is itself located in the center of the case.
Remove the small battery from its housing compartment on the CMOS/BIOS chip. Then, press and hold the "Power" button on the laptop's case for a few seconds. This will completely discharge all electricity from the device.
Replace the CMOS/BIOS' battery. Place the bottom panel of the notebook computer back on and screw it back into place. Place the Compaq Presario F500's battery back into its housing compartment and press the "Power" button to turn it on. Your CMOS/BIOS will now be completely reset.
Good luck and please let me know how you get on!!!!

It would help if you will clear the BIOS or the CMOS of the laptop. It can be cleared by pulling out the cmos battery of the laptop for a long period of time or by locating the jumper/dipswitch on the motherboard that would clear the BIOS.
