I have an Emtek Saratoga single cylinder door knob w/handle, no key. Cannot remove the latch bolt assemby from the door. Is there a trick? It does not have a pin hole in the side of the knob.

I have removed all the parts except this one. This piece has failed and we are no longer to open the door without damage. This one piece needs replacement, but cannot get part loose, seems wedged in the door. Is there a release that I do not know about?

SOURCE: hyundai accent '02 inside door handle & Lock removal

Removing the door is very tricky, trust me on this. I ended up breaking it the first time, so please learn from my mistake.

1. Remove all visible screws: 2 at bottom of door, 3 on front near hinge, 1 on inside the door lever. You will need an average size phillips screwdriver to do this.

2. On the door handle itself, you will see two circles. Pop the front one out. You will need a LARGE size phillips screwdriver to do this.

3. Once screws are removed, take a (standard) flat-head screwdriver, preferable one with a large face, and pry the triangular piece of plastic (that covers the outside SIDE mirror) off. This will aide in puting the door panel back on...TRUST ME!!!

4. Take the same flat-head screwdriver, and pry behind the door lock (at the same time, push forward toward the door hinge). The assembly should pop out.

5. Gently pry the door panel from the door, making sure not to break any unnecessary pieces along the way. The door panel should be hanging by the window sill opening.

6. This is where it will get tricky. It is advised that you use help with this part: Angle the door panel at a 45 degree angle. AT THE SAME TIME, slightly bend and twist the door lock handle until it fits through the hole. You will see the 3 pegs the held it in the door from before. Also note: Be careful not to break the 2 poles that are attached to the lock.

7. After popping the lock through the hole, you should be able to lift the door upward, and off the sill. Repeat these steps in reverse order to re-attach door panel.

Be careful not to rip sound-deadening paper found on inside of door unless you intend to remove or replace it! Not only does it prevent dirt and moisture from entering your door (and possible rusting it from the inside out), but it makes your speakers sound better too!

-SportTunerFreak

**It is also recommended to put a tiny bead of silicone on the inside of the door panel to help suppress any rattling, and prevent moisture and dust from entering. It also helps your screws obtain a tighter fit. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Jeep TJ Wrangler Outer door handle removal

The handle is held in place by two vertical wedges on both sides of the handle. To remove just force the wedges up with a hammer and screwdriver (be careful of the glass). Putting them back in is very difficult. I would suggest making the bends or adjustments with it installed so you'll know exactly how much you need. I hope this helps.

Driver's side door won't open from inside or outside

Check the linkage between the lock cylinder and the lock; when the latch was loose, the linkage may have broken or otherwise disconnected. The lock/unlock rod to the latch will be accessible inside the door for manual operation rather than using the lock cylinder or interior lock in the door panel. If this is the rear door on the driver side, additionally check the position of the child safety lock; when this is in the ON position, the inside door handle function is disabled. You can read more about door latch functions and how to replace them here: https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-repair-a-door-lock-actuator-by-marvin-sunderland

How do i replace my outside dorrhanle on my 1998 toyota corolla

You do need to pull off the inner door panel. After the panel is off, you are going to need to disconnect the lock rods from the outer handle and the key cylinder to the door latch mechanism. You will need a long 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, and a 10 millimeter socket. The outer handle is held on by 2 10 mm bolts, you access them thru the inner part of the door. There is a hole provided, with clear tape over it, that will lead you to the harder to see bolt. After the bolts are out, remove the handle, swap the key cylinder into the new handle, and reinstall. Not hard at all.
