It's true with respect to "active state" of mail, so if you put idle for some time you may need to login even when browser is still open. so, try to be in touch of messanger

SOURCE: signing in

Even if you configured the program to keep you signed in, whenever your internet connection fails, you'll need to sign in again or every time you turn on your computer. If you keep you computer on for 2 weeks without any connection failure, then definitely, it'll work for you, but I am afraid that any internet connection will continuously keep connected without any interruption. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

My computer program was updated but now I have to type in my e-mail address and password to access my e-mail

After the program update, the computer has lost it's autofill data. So even if you have kept "keep me signed in" box checked in, the browser cannot provide the login credentials to the Yahoo Mail Server.

So, you must provide the credentials and keeping the "keep me signed in" box checked in you have to login to your account. The next time your browser will not ask you again for ID and Password.

Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

Why do I have to sign in every time I open my Yahoo mail. It no longer opens without having to sign in every time.

  • Make sure Keep me signed in for 2 weeks unless I sign out. is checked when you log in to Yahoo! Mail.
  • Do not click Sign Out at the top of any Yahoo! page.
  • Make sure your Yahoo! account's Prompt for Password setting is Every 2 weeks:
    • Go to your Yahoo! account info.
    • Follow the Edit link under Member Information.
    • Make sure Every 2 Weeks is selected under Prompt for Password:.
    • Click Finished.
  • Do not clear your browser cookies manually.
  • Make sure your browser does not delete cookies when you shut it down.
  • Set browser extensions and anti-spyware software not to clear cookies or to exclude cookies from the "yahoo.com" domain.

I can not get my yahoo mail to let me sign in. I will say that the email or password in not correct is correct. I have tryed the only 2 paswords that use.

    Good Day Mamarose!

You should try to sign in on Yahoo Mail using a different internet browser.

From my experience, I am using Internet explorer as my internet browser, there are times it will not let me sign in at Yahoo Mail even though my user id and password was type correctly.

I usually open Mozilla Firefox and try to sign in there whenever Internet Explorer will have problems signing me in to Yahoo.

If despite changing internet browser and you still you can not sign in, maybe it is time for you to reset a new password. You can go to
    https://edit.yahoo.com/forgot?stage=fe100&src=ym&intl=us&done=http://mail.yahoo.com&partner=
Follow the on screen procedure, it will verify your identity, at the end it will reset your password

Bought a second hand computer.cannot remove the previous owners yahoo.id on signing in.How can i make my yahoo id the default.

Make sure that when you sign in you check the "Keep me signed in" Box located right below where you enter your password. Then go to "Account Info" and go to "Change Sign In Settings". Make sure that you have "2 weeks" selected, as this will keep you signed in for 2 weeks at a time without being automatically signed out.
