The Voltage is 3.5 v. Nickel Cad. Please help me to know what i need to do to make the battery work when plugged back into the phone??

If battery has a charge then its charging --if not working when battery reattached then problem is with phone circuitry or plug connections

KEYS HAVE BECOME DIFFICULT TO PUSH

Sounds like soda or juice was spilled on it. It may get easier as time goes on but if not you'll either have to replace it or disassemble it to clean it. Don't try that if you're not comfortable with working on delicate electronics.

I have a Motorola cordless phone system but lost the power cord to the base unit. How can I get a replacement? MD7161

You can either ring the manufacturer for the part.
But this is expensive, or try on ebay for a decent price.
Hope it helps!

Motorola MD400

Take battery out of handset for one minute.
Unplug base unit (power and phone line) for one minute.
Plug base unit back in (power and phone line).
Put battery back in handset. Place hangset on base for
one minute. This got my phone up and running.
I had no battery power in the base unit, but if I did, I think
you have to remove those as well.

5.8 GHZ Motorola Cordless Phone, Base w/1 additional phone

This is not a problem with the battery but rather the phone has lost sync. You can get it back by going to the menu screen then going to register. The phone will walk you through from there. Mine lose sync from time to time and I get the same error. I have these phones both in my shop and home.
Hope this helped you out...
