Do you have the wireless switch turned on. Most times there is a wireless switch on either side of the laptop or on the front of it. Turn it on and when on it should show a blue light. Also there are a combination of keystrokes that can toggle the wireless on most laptops. Normally you would have to hit the FN (Function Key down at the bottom left portion of the keyboard) + the corresponding key (F1 thru F12) that controls the wireless. The correct key that controls the wireless will normally have the wireless icon )))) on it. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the F1 thru F12 key that controls the wireless. If you watch the screen usually it will say Wireless On or Wireless Off.

I have acer aspire 4720 When I press WiFi button it shows "wireless LAN disabled" Option. My WiFi is not getting on. Please suggest some solution

If you're having problems with your Wi-Fi connection and you think it's not something in your home, make sure you have the latest driver installed for your wireless network adapter.
To check for the latest drivers
1.In the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar, type device manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results
2.In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.
3.Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter name, and then select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select Close.

If a new driver is found, it'll be downloaded and installed automatically.
4.After you install the updated driver, select the Start button > Power > Restart if you're asked to restart, and see if that fixes the connection issue.

Or Visit Acer driver support site and install latest driver.

Can't connect to wifi but can conect to cable

Ensure that your device has a WiFi adapter. If the device does not have a WiFi adapter you will not be able to connect to WiFi.

If the device has a WiFi adapter ensure that the correct driver is installed, or updated.

I cannot enable wlan. how do I turn it on

Check that you have the wifi network drivers installed. Go to control panel and open hardware and sound, under devices and printers click device manager. Look for network adapters, expand the menu and check that you have a wifi adapter installed. If not you will need to visit your pc makers support website and download a driver.

I'm using fujitsu lifebook s2020 and i have a problem with the wifi..my wifi is kind of disappeared or lost..how can i get it back? thank you

Good Day

The first thing you should check is that you WiFi is on. What I mean with that is that laptops usually have a button to switch on or off WiFi to generally save battery life. If you are sure that WiFi is on (usually the WiFi button's light is on) than check if ou can see a netwok adapter.

If you dont see it, there can be two reasons. 1. Another program which got installed on the laptop has controll over the WiFi and the WiFi will not be controlled my your Operating system. 2. Check the properties of your network place. It might contain the WiFi adapter disabled. Ceck under the properties and ut the tick poxes on "Show if adapter is connected" and "Show if there is a problem".

Last resort is to check under you Device manager (Right click My computer, Manage, Device Manager) and make sure the WiFi adapter's drivers are proberly installed.

Hope this helps

Hi ! so i recently reinstalled windows XP pro onto an msi ms-1012 laptop and after that i couldn't get internet by Wireless. and i started to install the required drivers and i could not find the wifi...

i think u shoul look under network adapters.... pci modem is for the modem which u have on ur computer... and that is used when u connect to the internet using a dial up connection.. wherein u insert the telephone jack onto ur computer and then dial in a specific number to get connected to the internet... check under network adapters and see whether u have any wi-fi drivers are missing or not?

Wifi connectivity problem

It's possible that the driver for your wireless adapter is already installed. Check under Device Manager > Network Adapters if there is anything pertaining to your wireless adapter. Make sure that your wireless adapter (under Device manager > Network adapters) does not have any red X or yellow question mark.

Red X indicated that it's disabled , while yellow question mark will suggest that you need to update the driver. If your wireless adapter is working properly under Device Manager > Network adapters then you will need to configure it's utility for wireless connection.

If you are running windows XP, look for the wireless icon in the lower right side of your task bar and use it to connect to your preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
