When I turn on my TV there is a click like it want to start, but the red light keeps flashing. It flashes six times, waits a second and then repeats six more flashes. It keeps going through this pattern and it will not let me re-set-it. Is there something I could purchase and replace to re-set my set? It is less than three years old, it is too young to die. Please advise. Thank you, Matt ☺
I think I have the solution for you. I have the same tv and it does the same thing when you turn on the power button on the remote when the tv turns on you hear a click then the red light flashes about 5 to 6 times then the tv comes on. on the remote there should be two buttons on top of the remote one says power and the other one says system hit the power button to turn on the tv when you hear the click and see the red light flashing then hit the system button which will turn off the tv then hit the power button again and it will turn the tv on without the red light flashing it should work
Just get out your original remote and hold the setup button on the remote while pushing the On/Off button on the TV. Worked right away for me!!!! Here's the link that I got the instructions from: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--esupportsonycom-perl-tutorial-displaypltutid297templateid1regionid1KSMFlag7370&sliceId=&docTypeID=DT_TUTORIALS_1_1&dialogID=53101564&stateId=0%200%2053105132.
(I was about to send my Sony KV34HS510 (Trinitron 32") out for repair but there is a snowstorm right now. Would have cost me $100 just for diagnosis. I decided to go back on Sony website for solution. I clicked on a different string on their website than I had previously gone to (even though the problem was stated exactly the same but other solution just said to unplug it and wait - didn't work). My TV is back on and I'm so happy it's snowing right now!!!)
Im sorry matt, its a solid state set and has no user replaceable parts inside the set unless your frained in solid state repair and printed circuit board repair. not as easy as to replace a module like the good old days. Its most likly in the sweep or the sweep power supply. it could also be a small of a problem like cold solder connections on the driver transformer, or the main high voltage transformer. Not a job for the untrained. Please be safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair... Good Luck PS please rate this thread.
Replace ic8001 and ic 8002 on main power board.Generic part# mcz3001d.
I have Sony Wega DRC KVHR 29M 91 about three years in use suddenly TV is on after few second red light is flashing about 10 times and put off the TV I disconnect the power cord and after one day I again start on TV was working properly and next day same problem repeatedly again I checked all connection are normal. My Sony KV-32HS510 started doing the same thing last week, except sometimes the red light flashes 4, 6, or 7 times. I am able to get it to turn on if I keep hitting the on button on the remote or TV over and over, but that seems to take longer each day. I haven't turned it off for the last few days for fear of not getting it to come back on.
I'm having the same problem too. i had mine for at least 5 years. did my research and a lot of people are having this problem
red flashing light six or seven times
Having the same problem. TV is 5 years old. Have extended warranty through Circuit City but have had no luck with their repairman. He is coming back to rediagnose the problem tomorrow (for the third time)! Can anyone let me know what to tell him?
I have the same problem and have tried to "reset" the thing with the remote and power button and it is not working. Has anyone found out what needs to be done to repair and what that cost might be. I do not live near a repair tech and would have to travel. I will do that if it is worth it b/c I don't want to purchase a new television when this one is only 5yrs old. I know one thing if I have to buy a new one it will not be a Sony. This is the second one that has broken on me way too early in its lifetime.
I also have this same problem. I got the tv from someone who said It still worked and got it since that person did not wanted the tv no more. yesterday it was working ok. And it does blinks 6 times.
me to what can i do to get the tv on
