Dell desktop 520 doesnt recognize hard drive

Sounds like a bad hard drive or a BIOS problem. If you have access to a working PC, try connecting the hard drive (providing the connections match) and see if it's recognized. Try borrowing another hard drive to see if your machine recognizes that one. Your bios is a good place to begin.

Wont recognize hard drive

If you recently bought it from a store or online it might just be a bad hard drive which happens. If your bios wont recognize it then it might just be an error with the bios firmware which can be updated from the manufaturers site.

DiamondMax 21 80-GB ATA/100 Hard Drive didn't get recognized as 1st drive or 2,3. do i need any software.

Use a partition manager to see if the drive is recognized. If it is not recognized, you may not have the jumper setting correct. If it is a master drive, set the jumper for master drive. same for slave or cable select

Having Problem with both LaCie hard drives being recognized on both macs

Try to connect to another computer, and see if it recognizes the drive. If Not, you can dismantle LaCie and take the disk out.

Connecto your disk to another external box (USB or Firewire) so you can have access to you data.
