Fax function I have had my 6110 for several years. It has worked flawlessly. We moved. Our new house is prewired with a structural central phone/internet/television system from Comcast. Every time I plug in my 6110 it freaks out the system and I lose all telephone function throughout the house. I have to push a reset button on the phone routing box in the basement. Have you heard of this problem before? Should I contact Comcast?

I looked at the Comcast site and searched for "fax problems" and discovered that, although you can fax using their service, some devices are incompatible. However, when I took a look at the list of devices, no HP products were listed.

That said, the service you have subscribed to (central phone/Internet/TV) may had additional issues with faxing. I'd have to say "yes", please contact Comcast support to see what can be done to resolve this issue. There may be a filter box or some other device that has to be installed so the fax machine can detect a dial tone without all of the other data on the line and avoid "freaking out" your system.
