If it has a coax fitting on the back connect there. If it does not have (means it is a monitor with no tuner) connect with a/v jacks to the correct input (component?) from a box and select that input to use for watching programs----picture will always be better via rear inputs than coax.

(1) Have you selected VGA Output on the Laptop?
Usually there is a Function Key combination like Fn Plus F7 to send output to the external VGA Port, usually depicted by a monitor icon on the F7 Key
(2) If still no input to the TV, check the TV manual for the frequency of the VGA Input.
For Windows XP Sometimes you have to go into
Control Panel / Display / Settings /Advanced then Monitor Tab
& look at the Screen Refresh Rate.
Suggest you try lowering that value till it produces a signal.
Good Luck

My Plasma will cut on and be perfect for only a few minutes then shuts off. Any ideas on what this could be? Common problems

Most likely the cooling fan is not operating properly. Gets too hot and high temp cutout prevents catastrophic damage.

Pioneer pdp-505cmx both red and green lights stay on - no picture - any ideas?

After replacing the power supply board, it is necessary and a must to adjust its Va & Vs voltages. These details will be there on its panel label. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts. Without adjusting these voltages properly, might make the Plasma Display defective.

Vertical size too large. Cannot adjust enough in menu

Try adjusting the horizontal out first. You may have to do this a little at a time back and forth between the vertical and horizontal.

Will not come out of standby

The reported problem is either:

A) your input signal is not being received (or is too weak), so the TV remains in standby mode...check the antenna or SAT or cable connection AND be sure the selection on the remote matches the intended input

OR

B) the TV Guide feature is unable to connect to the update correctly....power down the set (unplug if necessary) for 10- 15 minutes, power on and enter 0-0-0-0-0 as the zip code for the TV Guide...

Problem with Pioneer Plasma

Pioneer has a power supply recall on some models. Do a search and you will find a number at Pioneer and they will replace your power supply for free. The loud popping noise and then nothing is a common problem with these. Hope this helps!
