When downloading music to the player thru Windows Media Player, and after charging the player for quite some time, when I turn the player on it says "Hold" then "Bye" right away. I can't get it to play. Now I did use the USB setting the first time I downloaded the songs, then I read that it should be MTP if you have windows XP (which we do) but when trying to redownload the player with some of the same songs and some new songs, our computer said that the downloaded songs were all ready there and the new songs gave me an error message.
These are Christmas presents for my grandchildren and I have 2 more to get set up, I don't want to open the others if this problem can't be fix. Help Please, I'm getting frustrated. Thank You.

You will need to format your player. Doing this will completely erase any memory on your player. Follow the steps below:
1. Plug the player up to the computer using the USB cable.
2. Double click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
3. When that opens find your player under Removable Devices or Audio Devices. Some computers will show your player twice but will have the SD MMC card showing behind the player name. That is only for formatting the SD card.
4. Right click once on the player to open the Options menu and then click on Format
5. Click OK to any warnings that come up. There may be one or two depending on your operating system.
6. Any memory will now be erased from your player and you can disconnect from the computer.
7. Reboot your computer and plug your player back in.
8. When you see USB appear on your players screen, press and hold the M button until MTP appears on your screen.
9. Reload your music.
