Optra T610 Print Problem

Right side of the page doesn't print. My margins are set at one inch each, but four spaces are missing from right-hand side. Then if I move the margin in on the right, everything prints correctly. The work I do, though, has to have an inch margin. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sarrah

Your paper size settings for Tray 1 is probably wrong. Make sure it is set to Letter and the type is Plain Paper. If your Paper size is Universal, then either the paper guide in the tray is set wrong or the paper size sensor is broken. If the sensor is broken, you can disable auto paper size sensing so the printer will allow you to specify a paper size. To disable paper size sensing, you need to go into Config Mode. The other way is to send a PJL command to the printer to disable the function.

I am trying to print a booklet 2 pages per sheet double sided. Printing is OK but spacing is no good for the binding when the pages are cut in two. What instructions should I give the printer to allow...

Hi

By spacing, I assume you mean the margins at the centre.

The default margin settings are not the same for the right and left hand side of the page, so the printing on the reverse side is offset from the printing on the first side.

The right margin is always wider to allow for punch holes in file paper.

It is not the printer settings you need to adjust, it is the page layout of your word processing software.

Adjust the margin settings manually. In MS Office 2007:

Page Layout > Margins > Mirrored Margins.

Hope this helps.

My printer -X1185 prints the page with a 3 inch blank area on the left side and some of the right side printing is off the page. This is typical in my e mail page, and even if I center the letter on...

Web site designers create Web pages for display on a monitor, not for users to print on 8.5- x 11-inch pieces of paper. This becomes obvious the first time you try to print a Web page. Content you need may get chopped off by the right printer margin, whereas content you don’t need, such as the site’s copyright information, will print on its own sheet of paper. Fortunately, you can avoid such problems with a little foresight.

Before printing any Web page, open Internet Explorer’s File menu and select Print Preview. The current Web page will appear on-screen exactly as it will print on paper. Scan the preview carefully. If it appears that some content is chopped off by the right margin, click the Page Setup button located directly to the right of the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. In the resulting Page Setup dialog box, adjust the left and right margins so that each is set to 0.25 inches. The extra inch of space you gain by resetting the margins should provide just enough room to accommodate all of the content on most sites. Click OK to save the changes and return to the Print Preview window.

Next, scan the preview to determine which pages contain the content you want to print. Take note of those pages and click the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. Locate the Print Range heading and select the Pages option. Type the number of the first page you want to print in the From field and type the number of the last page you want to print in the To field. For instance, if you want to print just the first three pages of a Web page’s content, type 1 in the From field and type 3 in the To field. If your browser doesn’t have To and From fields, type the range of pages (such as 1-3) in the corresponding field. Make sure your printer has paper and click Print.

I keep getting a 1+ inch margin on the right hand side of the page. It has never done this in the past.how can i correct this

Before you print, go to print preferences and make sure the margins are set correctly. They're usually set to default at 1.25 for both left and right and 1" for top and bottom gutter set to 0" and gutter position is set to left.

Hope this helps

Incomplete Printing

It depends on the page you are trying to print. Some pages do not like printing everything on the page. What I have done is printed to PDF (with images) and then printed the PDF. You can find free PDF printers here:

Always prints more to left than established margin

Check you Page Setup andmargin set. Sounds like the page isn't set up properly. When you typing a document, go to the FILE then PAGE SETUP. Margins and Paper Layout.
Hope this helps. Bud

Not printing whole page

Could be as simply as the right print margin in the application you are using. Try printing a test page by right-clicking on the printer in Printers and Faxes in Control Panel and select Properties. If the test page prints ok then check the margins in the application you are using - usually File>Page Setup. The right margin could be set to 5.0 in instead of 0.5 in.

Not printing right side of page

Check the page format and margins.
Page format should be A4 or letter. Margins should be set to lower.
