If it is a V twin Kohler engine, you may have a blown head gasket. It is a common issue. Great engine but has this one issue. Kohler has a head gasket kit with improved head bolts. Torque specs are included. You will need a inch pound torque wrench and common hand tools.

The owner's manual should have a diagram. If no manual, go to www.managemylife.com and get a free one.

Try cleaning or better yet, replacing the spark plug. Depending on age and how your tractor was maintained, there are other possible causes.

• Gummed up fuel system
• dirty fuel filter
• defective or misaligned armature/magneto (part that causes your plug to spark, igniting the air/fuel mixture, thus starting the engine)
• throttle linkage/cable problems
• low oil level. Some Kohler engines use a low oil shut down sensor which won't allow the engine to run or start to avoid internal damage.
• Mechanical engine problems

I dont see any Diaphram listed. I would go to your local Yard equipment Dealer that handles Kohler. but my reference books show no diaphram or even a model ca

That # does not pop up when i do a search. Please look at it again.

Try adjusting the valves. Not an uncommon problem.

Go to... http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action Enter your model #, click enter, then scroll down to the sudcomponent list and click on 'Mower Deck' if it's your blade belt you need to see or 'Ground Drive' for your transmission belt. Hope that helps. Dwain
