All phones use more energy when connected to WiFi.
In order to preserve battery life, shut down your WiFi unless you need it.
Find Settings>Wireless and Networks , and uncheck the WiFi box.

Testimonial: "Thanks all for your help. It turns out wifi was continuously roaming, battery life seems much better now i have turned it off. Thanks"

SOURCE: I want to know how to transfer files from computer

You can transfer files and media via bluetooth or by using the cable that also is used for your charger.

Just connect the cable to a USB port on your computer then plug it into the charge port on your phone.

When you get a little USB symbol in the top left of the phones screen, tap it and drag it down and tap Mount.

You can then access your phone and its files via "Your Computer"

SOURCE: Sony erricson w705, wont charge the battery, it

my phone is the same model and did this but when i charged it, after about an hour it would come up with 'charging error stop ' and when i unplugged it, it hadn't even charged at all. and then the other day it just wouldnt charge, i plugged it in, it said it was charging but it wasnt. in the end, it worked by keeping the phone switched off and charging it while i was turned off. so try that, if not then i really dont know sorry

SOURCE: I have a new Sony

You probably have multiple apps running and don't know it!!!!! My friend suggested this to me and so far it has helped.... I downloaded Advanced Task Killer and I "kill" everything that I'm not using. The only thing that bothers me and I wish I could figure it out..... if I check this task killer once per hour, there are so many apps that are open that I didn't even use. I'm not sure why this is happening and havent had a chance to figure it out. But I hope this helps, I can be long winded for nothing so.....there's my two cents, hope it works out for you =)

I have a 2003 caravelle tdi 2.5, the battery is running down too quick if it stands for a day it needs to be jump started.

First do not assume anything. How old is the battery? Of it is more than 7 years old, it probably needs replaced. It all depends on the cycle of charging of the battery. Short trips cause the battery to be in a less than ideal state of charge. The longer a battery stays in this state the more the plates become sulfate which means less life. A full charged battery should last for 10 years by this is rare. The charging system must be ebaluated to see if the alternator is keeping the battery at full charge. If only short trips and no road trips are being taken, them a battery charger/maintainer is needed. Voltage to batter from alternator should be 13.6v up to 14.3 depending on the load. If a auto battery becomes completely dead because of a constant discharge, it looses half its life every time it happens.

Sony ericsson xperia. my phone charges but the battrer dies shortly after, it last about one hour.

Sounds like you need to replace the battery. Also, make sure your wifi and GPS locator are turned off. That uses a lot of battery, but shouldn't go that quick.

Hi, I have a problem with my battrey phone, the battrey does not last takes about one day or two days. Sony Ericsson Experia X10 kind regards, Lungile Mbuyeleni

Ifthe cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

My new Compaq CQ56-258SA laptop was advertised as having a battery with a 7hr life but although it has been charged to 100% 4 times now, the battery only lasts 3hrs at the most, Any ideas what I can do or...

The advert is usually for a laptop with the screen set to half brightness, wifi/bluetooth off and only an internet browser open ( no flash content)
However it is important that the battery undergoes a few full cycles.
By cycle i mean fully charge it, then use it until the battery has completely drained.

first of all connect your adaptor to the phone, remove the battery and check the battery terminal voltage. If voltage is absent check adaptor voltage at the pin.If no voltage change the adaptor. However if the voltage is presrnt, test voltage of the battery. If below marked level replace battery.if not ,clean battery contact and place into the slot.If after full charge the battery wont last then replace battery.
