have you tried to reset the printer?
(Take the power cord off hold # 3and then turn the printer on.)
That is an initial position problem

The problem is with the service station. This is the unit that the carrier "Parks itself" over when it is not printing. It cleans the print heads and collects excess ink. It also fills up with ink. and the ink dries in a big blob.
If the motor is good, if it was working it likely is, The SS probrably got jammed in the move.
Try this:
If you can move the carrier to the left with power off do so.
If not turn machine on and while carrier is to the left unplug the machine.
You need the carrier to the left to expose the SS.
Open the cover as if you were changing printheads.
Look straight down. your looking at the service station.
A shaft with wipers and a gear at one end should turn. A little resistance but jam if alot of ink is caked in the bottom of the unit.
You can clean some of this in from the top and see if the SS frees up as a test at least.
The service station can be removed if required. You need to remove the right cover from the machine.
There are three screws that you should see looking down at the SS from the top They have numbers next to them I beleive, holding the SS in. Everything that moves should move freely.
Hope this Helps Good Luck

my hp office jet pro l7500 indicates the ink has expired in all cartages but the cartgages are new because they were just put in . Before the same error code came up and so bought new cartages. Also the door to the cartages will not stay closed without tape.

Try staples or home depot if they are still open otherwise you have to order it from HP or you could try the new egghead. HP's address is www.hp.com
