Just grounding the pink wire alone will not solve the problem. There is a safety that prevents a solid ground from unlocking the video. The circuitry needs to sense that the brake pedal is active by sensing the brake pedal has been pressed and depressed. Federal regulations prevent video to be watched by a driver so the video will only display when the circuitry senses the brake pedal is depressed. I needed video to entertain passengers in the rear of a limo. In order to "fake out" the system, I installed a momentary switch to brake the ground. In essence duplicating a brake pedal being depressed. This works always. It is a federal violation for manufacturers to provide the code to permanently disable the safety feature.

Ok what you gotta do is connect the pink e-brake wire with the black wire that is already connected to the radio as the grounding.
UV10 Works 100%!!!!
Greetings from Montenegro
I just installed the vm8013hd and I simply grounded the pink parking brake wire to the chassis prior to connecting the power to the unit and it works just fine. No bypass box, switch, codes, etc. Good luck
Here it is how brother, insert a dvd movie, next use the toggle switch sequence to get image, next press stop button twice on the remote, then press 1 2 6 4 on the remote, you will now see a menu that says

Using the right joystick on the unit, navigate to the options of your choice, click on them to toggle on,off or which region code you want.
