Sound no picture brand new tv

Brought a new 37" akai wide screen tv home and tried to do the setup but it couldn't find a signal. The next thing I know there's no picture at all, no channel numbers only sound. I can change stations but still no picture. What happened? Did I change a setting my mistake?

Cable hooked up to tv and no channels come up. it ikea plazma

Try several inputs. See if you have the sam result. If you are watching with an antenna make sure all is connected and setup is set up.

Try set up if it works on the blank screen that means an input problem.

Also make sure you check with the cable help desk

My akai tv is set on full screen

You should have a button on the remote that came with the TV labeled: format , ratio , wide , picture , somthing like that, different brands of TVs call it different things and I am not familiar with the Akai branded TVs, but when you find it just press it as many times as needed to make the picture look as you want it to.
Good luck !

Intermittant disruption of Picture and Sound on View TV/HDMI only

If i am not mistaken you can select the HDMI signal going out on the 663, this means you should select to have only pictures to go out as sound will have to be reproduced by the 663.
So HDMI output setup on the 663 should indicate image only, no sound.

Cant get my viera linked panasonic to play through surround sound

I had the same problem, so i contacted panasonic, I am including the email they sent me.

For connections of audio, so that you can hear all tv audio through the
surround system, connect either an optical audio cable or red & white
analog audio cables from the tv to the home theater. If you are using
optical audio, there is a plug on back of tv labeled for digital audio
output and an input on the surround sound system. If you plan on using
analog red and white, use the PROG OUT red and white output jacks on the
back of the tv to the AUX input on the home theater.

For video connections, to get HD you will need to be using either HDMI or
Component cables. HDMI is the cable that will provided 1080p signal (the
best HD signal), but if the source does not output 1080p, then your tv
will not display 1080p. Most cable boxes output at 1080i or 720p when on
HD stations. This signal still provides great picture quality, but HDMI is
not needed to get these HD signals. You can use component cables for your
cable box and the DVD player output to the tv for video. HDMI might give
you a slightly better picture quality but the signal will be the same.

To make the connection, you will want to connect from the cable box to the
tv (component or hdmi). Also from the home theater system to the tv using
hdmi or the video cables from component (red, blue, & green cables).

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank You,
Panasonic Consumer
