The symptoms you describe make me think that the brew thermostat OR a thermal fuse has gone bad. I would try to get a warranty replacement, since it is less than 6 months old.

I have a black and decker ODC450 coffee maker where the display went blank and it will not work at all. Any ideas?

This could signify water damage so be careful!!
If the machine smells slightly like burning plastic, DON'T use it. take it in to your local electrician to have a look.

If you think its ok...
Check your house power, Change to another power point, check your house fuse box, if this is not the problem then DISCONNECT the coffee machine from the wall, take off the back cover or bottom and look for a fuse to replace.

Take care

I'm trying to remove a black & decker spacemaker coffee maker. The mounting screws are not visible from the cabinet above.

The assembly slides into the side brackets and drops into slots.Lift the entire assembly from the bottom (about 1/2 inch) and slide it forward (toward you).

Order parts for 172165

Hello. If you are hoping to repair this and can see the crack that is causing the leak you can repair it with a marine grade epoxy. This can be found at Home Depot and most hardware stores. J.

Need to know how to dismount the space maker 172165.

Remove pot and reach under unit and lift the back and pull forward. if there is still lots of resistance try giving it a firm hit upward with your hand at the bottom rear of unit.

We bought a black&decker Spacemaker coffee maker last month and it has not worked properly but maybe a week. It seems to not want to flow correctly into the pot. We set it to come on and wake up to...

If the hole in the bottom of the basket isn't plugged, it sounds like the anti-drip feature isn't functioning properly. This is the series of levers that allow you to remove the pot while the coffee is perking without spraying liquid everywhere.

There is a vertical lever mounted at the back of the hollow where the pot goes, and the top end of that lever lines up with the spring-loaded lever that closes the bottom of the coffee basket. When the basket is in place without the pot, the bottom of the basket remains closed. When the pot is inserted it presses against the back lever and the series of contacts opens the valve covering the hole in the bottom of the basket, allowing the coffee to flow into the pot. If the sequence of contacts doesn't work the basket will overflow, and you get coffee and grounds everywhere.

Ensure all these parts align and are working properly. If there's a problem that can't be resolved, or parts are broken or missing, removing the spring-loaded lever from the basket will allow the coffee to flow into the pot. You will no longer be able to remove the pot while it is perking, but you'll have your morning coffee.
