Hi so i have a hp pavilion a6030.uk and its been working fine etc and even yesterday it was working normal but for some reason when i opened my computer this morning was about to write an essay or type something, once i pressed the spacebar it makes a beeping noise, then my monitor goes to sleep and then i either wake it up with the mouse or one of they keyboard shortcuts to make it awake and it works but its everything the spacebar is pressed or used it does what ive said above. please can anyone help me solve/fix this issue...i think its the keyboard or something. im using a frends laptop to type this. please help, thanks
Sounds like your keyboard is sending the wrong signal (the one telling your PC to enter sleep mode) to your motherboard when you press space key, which (if true) would indicate it's faulty. It could also be you've contracted a virus and is playing a particularly nasty practical joke on you (let's hope that's all it does). Try connecting another keyboard to your PC and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then you'll need to clean your computer of any viruses. Try also disconnecting your mouse and see if that changes anything. If your keyboard comes with a shortcut utility software for it, run it and check there's no shortcut set on your keyboard's space bar. You've additionally specified you're not using wireless keyboard, but could you also please write what OS you're on?
