That shows triac semiconductor is working fine, the problem is the magnetron, "heats food" cracked high voltage diode or a shorted high voltage capacitor.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and

disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: Microwave not heating food and is making loud noise.

You have burned out the magnatron (heating element) which is common on GE microwaves. most service companies will charge about 200-250 to replace it

SOURCE: My GE Profile Microwave/Convection Oven stopped working.

Chances are that the thermostat / thermal cutout / T.C.O. (whichever it uses) has opened.

This can happen when the magnetron overheats, either due to it's failing, or if the internal cooling fan is not working.

It may also that be the 15- or 20A ceramic line fuse or the oven cavity thermostat / thermal cutout / T.C.O. (whichever it uses) has opened.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

You should be able to get the fuse from a home center or local appliance parts store.

Accessing some components for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

SOURCE: GE microwave stopped heating food. adjusting

If you can enter any time or power level on the micro touch pad, and the micro starts and counts down and stops, then your electronic control board (panel) is ok. The problem is in the heating energy components such as magnatron, transformer, capacitor, and diode; these components being very hi voltage and you must know what you are doing (must release the stored energy) so you do not get shocked (even if unplugged). Most often it is the diode or capacitor and it is worth repairing. Goodluck, macgivor..

Temperature at 10 power level

It does not work that way. The microwave OVEN generates (electromagnetic) microwaves that are absorbed by the molecules of the food in the oven, the container and the air.
The absorption rate depends on the molecular composition. After enough microwave energy is absorbed the overall temperature increases and the food is warmed, heated or cooked. If your mixture is inhomogeneous some parts absorb more energy while other absorb less and you can have hot spots.

The power level by itself won't give you an indication of the temperature because you need to know the time that the power has been applied. In simple terms Energy =time*power. The temperature reached is somewhat proportional to the energy, that makes it dependent on the time and the power.

Microwave lights up, turntable turns and fans run however food does not heat up. I have checked to ensure the power level is up which it is. Tried the express 1 minute as well as using the time mode and...

The problem is one of three things, the magnetron "common issue" the high voltage capacitor and diode can be a factor, all three work together in conjunction with the high voltage transformer to generate the high voltage that heats the food.

My oven is working and the turntable is rotating...But its not heating the stuffs...Also i am not able to change the power level..

This indicates a bad magnetron that "heats the food" or possibly a bad high voltage transformer that drives the magnetron, the parts and labor will approach the price of a new microwave oven.

Microwave power level

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

If you don't have your owner's manual, you can download it free from GE/Hotpoint.
